For example towing the rolling artillery, with transport vehicles or tanks. Being close enough to the artillery, the option to anchor to the vehicle comes out, if it is unused by another player.

Good concept, but I think it is easier to build another artillery rather than towing it to another place.

I think this concept could work as a new squad type. Squad spawns in halftrack or truck towing a howitzer or AT gun. Like maybe a German 88. You can stop and deploy the gun and then continue onward to other objectives.

not really.
if i have to reposition or position my gun it’s much easier to build it, and then move it around with a vehicle to reach a better spot easely.
rather than having to leave the gun there, move my self on the newer position, and having to build the gun from scratch.
plus, it’s a nightmare to move on uneaven terrain. a vehicle would be much handlier and easier to controll.

The problem is you need to get the vehicle first.
Vehicle works worse on uneven terrain. It is harder to drive a vehicle up a hill. Moreover, random obstacle on those terrain is horrible for your vehicle.

for some capaign, true.
but not unlikely.
in many recent campaigns and maps there’s always a vehicle.
i’m sure this will be tweaked in future for those exceptions.
beside, devs said were working on allowing squads to get vehicles in the spawn selection ( or something in between. they were vary vague about it )
if you are on the heights of normandy, it is.
otherwise, not so much.
which, it’s not that hard for you to follow a road, station somewhere near the road to a good position, and then move to have a clear shot ( admitting that you are not on heights. since depression of the gun is lacking at best. although you’d know this and would avoid driving there in the first place )

Another problem is the truck is a easy target for enemy tanks. You might get destroyed before you can get into position.

because they chose to do so?.
i know might be a new and strange concept to you, but people can play their own way they want.
why should you use tanks to fight other tanks if you have the risk of getting bombed or tnt’ed by infantry?
you still do it anyway because it’s a choice.
why do you use planes? if have the risk of getting shot by other planes or aa.
because you see it as a risk worth taking and you think you can make the best out of it.
so… does it really come down on why?
because i can get shot when i try to build it.
i have more time for action when it’s already builded.
and requires me less time to set it up unlike if i have to build it up from scratch ( heck the tank might have moved away already or killed me and my squad while i was trying to build the at ).
so yeah, both has risks, but both are valid choices depending on situations.

You can stay in cover while building it.

and you can also seek cover when driving around or looking for a safe spot to do some killing from.

it’s gonna even be easier to reposition your self after a few shot to avoid getting located rather than wasting time moving that gun around on foot

Except even if you tow with vericle, you will have to move it on foot anyway.
We don’t have 3rd person viev nor middors so going on reverse while towing AT gun is problematic to say lightly. You need to push it.

plus, you can always practice and learn how to drive with a towed vehicle.

How do you find cover for a truck when you want to deploy the gun?
I don’t think you can easily reposition your gun without getting your truck shot by infantry.
