I’m afraid the game will become predictable. Currently there is no balance on the battlefield which adds some realism to the game because there is no balance on the battlefield.
It’s the same thing I’ve been saying for a long time. Honestly they will fuck us very well. I don’t understand how they will compensate us for the extra slots.
Well that “beautiful historical accuracy” has its nuances (several I would say).
Apparently, they just won’t.
Well this is meh. I like the matchmaking as is. Keep the historical accuracy if you please…
I hope the following questions havn’t posted already:
- What happens to the Gold Order Vehicles in the Armory? Will they still be available?
- Am I forced to play theatres which I seldom play bc I do not like them?
Example:
I do not like Stalingrad and Berlin and prefer Normandy, Tunesia and Pacific.
So, when I want to play Germany do I have to fear to be thrown into matches with maps from Stalingrad and Berlin?
If so I must say that would totally disappoint me.
It is my time and I want to enjoy the game but when I have to play a lot of those I do not like it would be a waste of my time.
Same here. I do not like Berlin and I detest Stalingrad. If I am forced to play them I will quit those games or I have to play Japan or the US.
Then I will be able to avoid Berlin and more important Stalingrad which is really horrible in my opinion!
This sounds good in theory. But, form experience playing multiple campaigns, the amount of bots you face is too high, the unbalanced teams stink, and the thought of regrinding the same stuff over and over keeps me from playing campaigns.
There won’t be theaters, there will be maps. YES the maps will be those places but the other difference, weapons and vehicles, will fall into a second group. The game will be divided into three tiers (for now) They didn’t name them, but think of them as early, midwar, late. Weapons and vehicles will be categorized into these tiers. When you go into the MM it will look at the tier of your weapons and try and match those tiers. So for Russia you would have, sort of, moscow era, stalingrad era, and berlin era. So you can chose what type of game you like based on weapons. If it’s the city maps you hate, I’m sorry, but that’s something you will have to deal with.
They did add a map filter to War Thunder, so it is possible you may be able to block the map you hate the most at some point. This is what I would argue for. As the campaign model has to die for this game to go forward.
What I meant by theatres:
Maps situated in a certain area which is called a theatre what goes for wargames in general.
E.g. all the maps which are now in the Stalingrad Campaign → Stalingrad theatre
I know that there will be no theatres in the future
Hmm, when I am forced to play Stalingrad or Berlin maps then this is soem kind of a game breaker for me.
I do not like most Stalingrad and many Berlin maps.
The consequence will be that I probably won’t put any money in the game anymore.
Do not get me wrong some of the future changes are quite good like not having to “research” duplicate weapons.
But being forced to play a lot of more maps I do not like than in the old system is a no go for me!
Ok, I will try to circumvent the new system by using squads with weapons/vehicles which are not situable for certain maps. Maybe that will works more or less.
Or I will play only Italian, US or Japan. Whatever I will see.
BTW: Which German vehicles are definately not being used on Stalingrad / Berlin Maps? Thx!
Certain factions will be limited to certain maps, as they’ve stated. IDK if they will break it down by Era. So if you are using “tier I” you only get moscow maps if playing Russia. Although I bet you could ask for that.
Semi, it depends on the number of players afaik.
hmmm. The information is all over the place. Still, I feel like this will work out in a good way. DF isn’t stupid.
Ofc just my understanding but they try to combine low br with war phases which works so much until they meet the KV1, Fed, Volkssturm gear or the T-34s. Anyway the br tries to put people with similiar br into place as long as the pool is big enough. And if that fails I think they will either use bots again or have people with lets say slighty higher Br which may confuse the br map thing depending on the stuff.
That ship is sailed.
Okay, I appreciate your presence on these forums as a sensible one. But hating on guys who have to try and make thousands upon thousands of people happy while keeping the game good is too easy.
Nobody is perfect, but I think the game keeps getting better so I’m gonna stand by it.
Ok, I do not want to complain in advance.
Let see what happens and how one can “manipulate” the matchmaker to one’s liking.
Hopefully I find a way to get Normandy maps most of the time.
As I said before I do not like the Stalingrad setting in general and most Berlin maps.
And filling your leisure time with things you do not like is a waste of it, or? ^^
I don’t really care about how you change the progression, SO LONG AS YOU DON’T MAKE THE GRIND UNTENABLE LIKE IN WAR THUNDER. That’s probably too much to ask since Enlisted is Gaijin-adjacent, but I can always hope. I quite WT for a reason.
Uh. The Grind is arguably worse, right now, than it is in War Thunder.
Hello! May I ask if there have been any changes to the content of this message so far?
Just to say, I finally read the upcoming features post, I am not terribly impressed.
By pushing them all into one queue and axing the historical accuracy you are essentially making it a toned down CoD, or BF. Honestly, those games are far better than Enlisted in those niches.
You say progress is kept, but I main axis Moscow, Normandy and Berlin. There is a lot of overlap there which means I’ve wasted time and progress, while not as grindy as WT, it is still a significant time investment getting to the 30’s.
I do like the tech tree idea, but it is still linear progression. To use the weapon/tank I want I am still going to have to grind through all the previous tiers I don’t. In fact this will probably take more time to do than the current system. Whereas, currently I grind through the campaign I pick up a wide spread of items. It is maybe not the tank I want, but getting to the tank also gets me weapons and squads I will be using. The proposed system, I grind all the way to the tank I want but everything else will be bottom tier.
I purchased multiple premium squads and vehicles across all the campaigns, specifically to advance those campaigns. What was the point? Either I won’t be able to use them when I want to, due to the random nature of maps or they will all clump together and I will have too many to effectively use. A waste of money. How useful will my 38T be in late war matches?
What about squad slots I paid for across different campaigns?
I specifically play on a couple of campaigns these days, Moscow and Berlin. Occasionally Normandy. I do so because these are the maps I want to play. Stalingrad is terrible, Tunisia is dull and most of the time the game is so dark and glare happy I can’t see anything in Pacific. An issue from a number of patches ago that was ignored.
Unless you are putting in campaign specific filters, filters haven’t been mentioned as far as I can tell, then you are going to lose players, including me. Any benefit to keep player numbers up, overall and per campaign will be lost as you will lose players over all and I would guess most of them will be the players who stuck around and spent the money.
There are reasons nobody plays these campaigns.
To be honest it seems at the time of posting you had already started and decided to do this so asking for comments is pointless.
Since this is on the horizon, I guess I will stop playing now. There doesn’t seem to be much point continuing since grinding is worthless and when the update is released I will be forced into maps and theatres I don’t want to play on.
Yes you have custom filters but I bet there will be some restriction on what can be earned. I would guess, bet that we don’t want to play custom games so I forsee a couple of full games and dozens of empty ones. There is a reason why official servers in most games are the more popular.
Always surprise the propensity of game developers to shoot themself in the foot with a nuke. I get some people saying this is the only way to move forward, but it really isn’t. It is basically admitting the game is failing due to a lack of population and/or interest and prolonging the inevitable without fixing issues.
