I suspect alot of people going that way.
Let’s look at war thunder,
It’s a strait progression game experience with poor to none faction identify and absolutely zero social elements.
It’s casual gaming where you get a kick from dogfighting for an hour a day and then unlock an airplane that will take you to the next tier or battle rating.
Would you throw a new game worth of money for a premium unit in a casual game?? Not me.
I disagree with the entire premise of this post.
A) The historical nature of this game was already minor at best.
B) By picking era specific weapons and factions you can tailor who you fight and what maps
C) The current system wasn’t working. Most of the campaigns had one faction that dominates all the time. Unless you played that faction the game was misery in those campaigns.
I don’t. This is going to give the game a broader appeal. It will be more successful. The people it looses will be of no consequence long term.
The game will remain unique and inviting after the update. In fact it will be MORE inviting.
I love this, but add a damn server for Latin America or at least let me create a local server to play with friends a custom one somehow, WITHOUT PING.
I think you guys miss 1 minor detail, the new BR system gonna split the player base more than the campaign system…
hi! maybe / probably what i am going to write is not meant to be here or its already been discused somewhere else. but i have to share this… all new stuff is great. ( almost) 1 thing what i hate and cant stand it its ((BR)) i know devs want to make accurate games and all other stuff. but i really enjoy moscow and to be honest i dont really like stalingrad. and now even playing with BR 1 ( russian side) i still get other maps. like for example same Stalingrad. Which is really… not great. instead of BR what decides what maps you will get ( in my exp). you could keep old style OR just put maps together and play randomly all of them. I mean all Rus/Ger maps randomly not decided by BR. that would be a little less annoying. 
So as i said even runing with mosins to keep BR low as possible to get moscow still geting other maps.
If i dont understand this BR system correctly please let me know.
