Yeah, the belts could be linked with a bit of wire. However, Infantry units were issued 50 round belts. The MG-42’s belt was non-disintegrating and having a massive 100 or 250 round belt hanging off your gun wasn’t really convenient to be on the move with.
Still there is nothing stopping you from putting the MG42 with a 250 Tape in the research tree
I could see an event weapon, but not in the tech tree.
Wouldn’t it be wierd that instead of 100 round mg34 or 42 we get mg08-15 or something else I mean these were the guns that German army heavily relied and why shouldn’t they add these? Cause of its most comparable to other nations MG don’t give me that crap where is RD-44 equivalent for Germany or where is drum mag smg for Germany in TT, simply its stupid to not give Germans Mg34 or 42 with 100 rounds dude BTW don’t get me wrong it just feels stupid like getting a MG that wasn’t the one which was used as heavily as other but its not up to us let’s see what happens

Using that logic, the Thompson and PPSH41 should have their rate of fire lowered, their drum magazine removed, and only be given out as limited event weapons.
