Zero pilot wanted for training

Hey

I am wanting to get someone that owns a zero in the pacific campaign so i can better learn how to counter the zero.

I think the higher level allied planes can outrun it. The armament is only 120 20mm shells and the anemic 7.7 which won’t do much unless you’re shooting at a seaplane, so if you can get them to expend all the cannon you are pretty much safe. Don’t get into a turning competition with a Zero though, it nearly has the turn radius of a biplane.

i got the end game allied fighter. but it is only about 10 kph faster than the zero. The only Thing that i can think of doing is trying to climb as high as i can then dive down on it.

the zero has a max speed of 541.44 kph on the inspection (2 stars i believe.) the fp-3 has a max speed of 552.24 kph at max upgrade.

So at max upgrade, the zero may be as fast or faster with better turn and better climb. The only thing that i can think of doing is side climbing then diving fast onto the zero.

To be honest. I kinda wish they had the corsair to go against the zero for more of an even match up.

Zeros will outturn any plane in the game rn that’s not a biplane and it outmaneuvers everything the allies have in the Pacific, irl Navy pilots got beat with the stupid stick to not ever turn with a zero. Same applies, don’t ever get in a turn fight with a zero. That said there are some things you can do for an easier fight which was outline in a Navy Bureau of Aeronautics report on the Akutan Zero which you can find publicly. Basically the zero has a lawnmower for an engine, rn the Wildcat will outrun it in a dive due to its more powerful engine and heavier weight, also it was discovered that the zero especially did not like right hand dives so when you dive away roll right all the way down and the zero might rip its wings off. The zero also has no cockpit armor, despite its 20mm cannons going head on is not the worst idea if you’re in a Wildcat. Lastly the zero’s fuel tanks are located in the wing roots and they’re unarmored, basically every bullet your 50. cals fire is an incendiary round, you hit the ring root you’ve got yourself a dead zero. In irl WW2 air combat it’s a commonality that the plane that gets the jump on the other plane usually wins, there’s not a lot you can do rn if a good zero is on your tail but if you’re good and you get the jump on a zero there’s not much it can do against you. Just get high, stay fast, and aim for the wing roots.

Thats what i kinda figured. it kinda stupid that you only have the wild cat to face it. but i guess, that part of the war. thats all they had. Maybe later the corsair will come into play.

I dont believe you can wing rip in enlisted.

You can rip your flaps and landing gear off so I assume you can rip your wings off too

You’re never high enough in enlisted to build that speed in a dive.

Though I can say the A20s engines stutter when rolling which simulates the plane isn’t meant to go inverted.

Almost every plane gets fuel starved when inverted. You can pull high Gs down low with alot of speed. But maybe it’s something that we have to test and see if we can fold the wings.
