i love how all the bravados derail the topic speaking of other equipments saying things like:
" ally equipment is better "
or
" axis equipment is better "
which to be honest, i play both nations and i can confidently say that the germans get all the toys of the case and yet still complains.
regarding the fg42 i do still think it should be stricted perhaps to only the Mortar squad ( as they are one of the few paratrooper regiment if not the only one under the free to play circumstances ) but i don’t see why mentioning all the other staff.
how hard can it be to read and get along with it just fine.
( which as a ““huge”” german player my self, and american enjoyer, i still don’t understand how can someone defend the FG being where it’s now. but i bet my tits off that people ( again germans) will complain about the counterpart being available to everyone. which it’s going to be ironic because no one speaks about the m2 nowdays. last post that mentioned was of 3 months ago… )
so yeah, it’s been like, 6 months now that we keep asking of the restriction of fg?
because A it requires to remove the ““nerfs”” made to it making it a better gun suitable for that role ( meaning, less recoil )
and B, germany already gets the MG34, MG42 and the breda. having a fourth lmg would be just too much in my opinion. that’s why perhaps radio operators, mortarmens or just the squad of the para as a whole limited to that use would be more beneficial and " better ".
Remove M2 and give US a Devils Brigade squad with JMG which would be the sole unit who can use it. As historical as the M2 or the Johnson rifle.
Would be fair.
I kinda think just removing the FG42 and keeping the FG42 II restricted to snipers would work well. Snipers are really small squads and thus you wouldn’t have 9 man squads with FG42s, and youd fulfill that “historical accuracy” side of complaints. Plus you can always remove the scope and still use it as an elite assault squad. You also get some neat asymmetrical balancing where Germany gets a really powerful weapon but they have smaller squads overall
It would be “axis BAR” as germans don’t have their automatic rifle or anything similar. It suits perfectly imo, I don’t see a problem. Actually it might make a few “special players” happy as they will be able to bunny hop with LMG again.
