This isn’t speculation; I encountered this problem yesterday after updating the game, and an error code window popped up. Disabling the two extra squad slots provided by the game’s official website, lowering the graphics settings, and turning off special effects resolved the issue. So, that’s my solution. Furthermore, I’m certain your computer is at its highest configuration; otherwise, it wouldn’t be able to accommodate 12 squad slots. Having multiple squad slots consumes a lot of RAM, so the fact that it runs smoothly suggests your computer has at least 16GB of RAM

All the “new content” added in this update has already been available in War Thunder a long time now. You can try it out there without lag or crashes.

And that’s without mentioning that the gameplay and everything else is completely different. In War Thunder, besides being much smoother, the maps are larger and more suited to vehicles because that’s what the game is all about.
