Wouldnt it be smart to release Stalingrad into CBT even if it is like for 2 weeks?

I would say release Stalingrad into CBT for people who have pre-ordered. Since the campaign in coming in a few weeks, why not let people test the campaign.

The big issue, and i see it from a mile away, will be bugs. Let all of us “Bug hunters” report as many bugs as possible so that the launch of Stalingrad isn’t terrible.

Tunisia which had 2 weeks of CBT if i am correct, launched with quite a few bugs, mostly textures missing, and terrible AI pathfinding.

Berlin was in CBT for around 2.5 months and launched also with quite a few issues. AI pathfinding wasnt that bad, but still had issues, and something like the capture objective times were hilariously broken, attackers being able to cap in like 15 seconds, and 1 guy capping all the points before people could even spawn there.

So we can see that both Tunisia and Berlin being in CBT launched with quite a few issues, and i dont even want to imagine what would happen to Stalingrad without CBT testing.

I really see no negatives to releasing Stalingrad CBT to pre-order players. Let them test out performance, maps, AI pathfinding, report bugs, test features.

Give them no progression, maybe 6 default squads like: Trooper, assaulter, gunner, radio operator, medic.

So in conclusion, release Stalingrad CBT to fish out the bugs. Id be happy to report issues on the campaign, so other people could enjoy it at least without as many issues

Wasnt it like 7 days with set squads + 7 days with progression? and then release.

If it was only 7 days then wow

a yes in fact for a few days they used the fixed teams but then the progression for the CBT was immediately activated for only 7 days

No offense but fuck CBTs.
CBTs are USELESS. Did you guys learn nothing from Tunisia and Berlin?

i agree, but at the same time, i don’t.

as an alpha tester, i feel like nothing has really been changed. and therefore agree more with @CaptainSebekel because it feels all the same. despite people reporting bugs and issues, those takes time. so it doesn’t really change if you get to test 1 week earlier and in that week make reports. because it actually takes more than 1 week to test it. and in one week, i have rarely seen hotfixes unless it was game breaking stuff.

so i suppose devs are opting to gain MORE feedbacks about it. it is truee that not everyone might like to experience bugs day one. but as it’s a beta, i suppose it’s inevitable. so it’s actually good if everyone has access to it and massively report the bugs. more chances to get noticed.

and lastly, it would only have benefict those who already started. which doesn’t make sense since in this test since you bought it, you already level up 4 times faster ( or 6/8 depending prem and boosters ).

which would create only further gaps.
but perhaps those are just my two cents.

I mean some bugs are so old here, that Im starting to count them as feature looking at the P38 bug on Normandy.

CBT’s are useless the last Tunisian one only lasted for like one week i think its best just to release the new campaigns publicly then you have more people to play test it and give feedback.

I mean ehhh. Youre kinda right, but at the same time wrong. But mostly right

If we had a 2 week CBT test period, we couod report the issues, meaning they would be known sooner, and fixed sooner.

Something gamebreaking might be there that will ruing most peoples experience in the campaign early on. Like Berlin cap times.

I really dont see any harm for a CBT 2 week period, only benefits

Any example for that?
The engineer is still level 9.

how have they not fixed that yet.

They better not do it again on Stalingrad and other future campaigns even with the pack considering how annoying it is to be the only player in the team that can build rally points which is a much worse problem in Tunisia with the level 9 unlock.

Yeah only this one time I saw a really quick fix, you know this terrible incident with custom servers, where players were gaining way to many XP, I am really glad that they set their priorities straight and brought a day one patch for that!
