I know I already stated my opinion on the 250 anniversary event. I just am so mad and disappointed that they didn’t do something more special to celebrate and just give 2 British knifes and 2 auto 1911s. Honestly, the worse independent day event Gaijin have ever done.
They’re Gurkha knives…Technically Nepalese, so NOTHING to do with US Independence.
But they did just have a VERY good event.
They could give you 10K free gold and you would complain
I could hear it now “They should have gave me 20K!”
That would be surprising.
We have been given a solid event lineup recently. America is Gurka level kick ass. I get it the event. That pistol is a beast.
We’re making our way out of a very intense, and fairly rewarding, event cycle. I am not that upset by the ammount of rewards, we just got a US tank in the last major event (which is still going on, AFAIK, I’ve just finished it).
But, the Commonwealth knife - however much I do like it as a Commonwealth main, and I will be using them - it’s still a inexcusable addition in a 4th of July event.
Nobody cares about independence day outside of America. And 250 is nothing. I live in city that’s 1140 years old. So what.
It’s an average small 6 day event. Nothing exceptional, nothing terrible. I’m glad they’re continuing to do these small events on a very regular basis now.
I like the event. Knives are useful fot the sprint speed buff. Full-auto pistols are a way to give a full-auto weapon to specialized soldiers (engineers, AT gunners, radiomen) who normally cannot have it except at BR 5.
I do! if there was no USA the world would be a very different place!
Good/Ok event overall but the knife should have been something more relevant to America.
I might have studied at a university that’s a couple of times older than the United States, but that doesn’t mean I will sneer my nose at the New-Wolders for it. We all have different cultural backgrounds, and a different ways of viewing history - that doesn’t immediately invalidate their own historical memory. Age alone is not what makes a country’s history meaningful.
Sweden can point to much older dates than the United States. Olof Skötkonung reigned around 995-1022 and is often treated as an early founding figure in Swedish history. King Charles VIII is associated with the first non-mythical origin of the Swedish flag around 1450. Regent Sten Sture the Elder, active in the late 1400s and early 1500s, is tied to the development of Swedish national identity in opposition to Danish rule. And modern Sweden is commonly dated to June 6th 1523, when Gustav Vasa was elected king at the final stages of the war of liberation against Denmark.
By comparison, the United States foundational dates like: November 21st 1620 for the Mayflower Compact; December 16th 1773 for the Boston Tea Party; June 17th 1775 for the Battle of Bunker Hill; and July 4th 1776 for the Declaration of Independence.
So yes, Sweden’s historical timeline reaches much further back. The university I attended predates the American republic by centuries, and Sweden’s modern state has more than 500 year of continued existance. But that does not make the United States’ 250th anniversary trivial. Two hundred and fifty years is a major milestone for any modern sovereign state, especially the oldest still-existing independent state in the Americas.
Older does not automatically mean more legitimate. Younger does not mean insignificant. Different countries have different timelines, different historical memories, and there is no need to belittle another nation’s history just because one’s own reaches further back.
Besides, you live in a baby republic, Adam. I would be careful about throwing bricks in glass houses if I were you.
Well, most importantly, they should stop spamming these low-effort melee weapons. I wouldn’t be surprised if this turned out to be just import from Cuisine Royale.
Literally, even a random American decal or a unique cosmetic would be better.
Even then it’s not all bad because it means two soldiers get a speed boost melee weapon but yep should be more relevant to America.
A speed bonus on a weapon that you can’t charge with is not worth the trade-off of not being able to hold a firearm in your hand.
Now you are being ridiculous… those are not useful in a battle whatsoever… melees with sprint boost allow you to traverse the map faster and useful in many scenarios
The weapon they choose for it? Yeah… that’s questionable.
Not to mention how would Israel survive without America as proud cannon fodder?
A shame there is no day to celebrate the “foundation” of the USSR or Russia (in Enlisted) because I could imagine the devs giving us some stupid Chinese knife and probably a engraved Browning or the one Spanish pistol.
Some very strong words from the “Wir schaffen das” knife fodder guy.
Well, maybe less evil Arabs wouldnt go to Europe if Proud Supporters wouldnt keep bombing their stinky neighbours all the time and make America invade or wreck them once every decade.
Stupid question but what is inherently wrong with the world beeing diffrent as to how it is now?
If adolf had not invaded the world it would also be diffrent as to how it is now.
So is adolf now the good guy because he made the world into what it is today?
I think not but that is just my opinion here.
Outside of the US it really does not mater how the US is ruled ( be it democraty, a dictator or the tallest monkey that found the biggest bananas) exept for what kind of foraign policly it institudes.
But in the post war era even that was very questionable thanks to the CIA meddeling in foraign affairs resulting in entire countries beeing pluged into anachy and the following rise of extremist organisations there warranting the entire war on terror.
The US really isnt sunshine and rainbow and as such it kinda is annoying how those american want to impose their way of life onto the rest of the world.
