Wincehster Model 1912

Why doesn’t the Model 1912 get it’s bayonet?
Seems odd after other weapons got theirs.

I will posit that it’s because the Winchester is too awesome to need a bayonet, but of course that is somewhat complicated by the fact that they gave a bunch of semi autos and select fires bayonets as well, which even if I disagree with it, does make the winchester’s lack of one feel a bit odd. Its still a great weapon regardless, though. Arguably better than SVTs for most uses, though, because of its much better accuracy and damage.

I think you are confusing the Lever action with the shotgun, the lever action is the 1895, the shotgun is the 1912.

Ah rip me, darn guns having such similar names. That was exactly what I was doing.

In that case, let me counter with “Why doesn’t the M30 drilling have its rifle mode?” :stuck_out_tongue:

Probably because its issued ammunition was a war crime to use on humans, it was for killing animals.

What convention are you citing?

Hauge 1889, the Drilling rifle used a soft pointed round which would misshape in the body.

The germans also saw the use of shotguns in combat in general to be a war crime, or at least extremely untasteful, and only issued the M30 drilling as a whole for use as a survival weapon. And yet we have the M30 available as a front line weapon. I don’t think “The rifle mode was a warcrime” is a good excuse for its absence.

Since when did ww2 germany care about what is and isn’t a warcrime?
