you can make any soldier pose like this by selecting any squad, then tilting the displayed soldier 45 degrees to the right with the drag function and then selecting another soldier btw

Just tested, and can confirm. Please never fix this particular bug. It brings great joy to me knowing I have an army of Frankenstein.

This will probably get fixed… because we can´t have nice things even if they are not under “bug report” tab. But in this case it would be partially understandable if devs do that.
This topic is nice example of it.
