Since the concept of the saboteur isnt simple it really needs to be tested first before they hit the live server. But if nobody has access to the new class on the test server no feedback will be able to be gained.
So is it possible to provide the saboteur squads for free for the duration of the test server?
This could eighter act as a prove of concept for the new class or at worst an oportunity to avaid having to rework the entire class should some aspect of the class prove problematic / bugged to high heaven.
This also plagued the previous test servers were only a few players had been able to actually test some of the new content locked behind the paid/preorder content but this time it is especially critical
Yeah, a new class this important should have gone through comprehensive testing to see how well it actually performs. If they just rush it to release without proper checks, the consequences could be disastrous. Judging from what we’ve seen so far, relying solely on one person’s paper data just doesn’t look efficient enough.
Yeah, I think as more and more new classes get added, they really need to increase the number of players per battle. 10v10 is just getting too small. It should be 11 or 12 players per side instead.
The poll on the forum had a pretty close split when I saw it and was an extremely small poll of like 200 people. Apparently some reddit polls were more in favor there with larger numbers. That’s when a bunch of forum dwellers tried to say reddit doesn’t count because their voices don’t matter as much as the ones here
Maybe for the game mode where you have to capture 2 seperate points at the same time to move on (maybe assault?). Otherwise the playable area and singular small objective area is significantly too small for that many people. Most people run and gun in this game. I don’t believe they can be retrained to play as a cohesive team taking ground outside of the immediate vicinity of the objective.
An even split got it…
Only every 8th user supports the new class on the forum which is so far from what you claimed
not sure how this one is so much better…
The only reddit poll that was used (and in favor) that I am awear off didnt even ask if you want the saboteurs or not but only if they are cool or not and wasnt even on the official enlisted reddit but the reddit of a youtuber.
I highly doubt that most of the audience of a youtuber is that much invested into the game that they can make an informed guess as to if it would be good/ fitting into for the game.
My guess is that half of the audience will only occationally see the new videos of handpicked matches
For a content creator the new class will be excellent because the class will have potential for crazy streaks in bot lobbies (which makes for great content) but if you dont have luxury of just cutting out all the 10 failed attempts for each attempt that paid off the class will just suck hard.
I could create a poll on the MLP reddit and I might get even more votes but do you really trust that they would be able to do an better informed choice over there than on the one place where all the veterans meet?
And here’s another poll from YouTube with like 15x the total votes. Meaning it’s way more accurate to the average player. The forum is a special little place in hell that’s an echo chamber of negativity.
Is it cool =/= do you want it… so no that is not 75% in favor of the class
Would planes with acces to a full loadout of cluster bombs be cool? yes.
Would planes cabaple of carpeting half the map with a rain of hundreds of 2kg explosives be fun and should be added? No
So again clusterbombs would be cool but stupid. Same thing can apply here too.
Also having a YT based poll is even worse than reddit as here there would be even less people actually playing the game and more who just watch the weekly handpicked video where Quadro demolishes a bad/bot team and call the gun op even if it isnt. Also since Quadro also made a video about the sabos so everyone in the poll will already be biased by the opionion of quadro…
But he never added the not cool to add part into the poll…
Are you really expecting everyone on the internet to also understand that?
A lot of people on the internet need to be spoonfeed everything so leaving it ambigous as to how to interpret the poll kinda invalidates its existance to gague anything.
The litteral text is just is it cool? Not is it cool to add? So dont be suprised when people answer is it cool instead and not is it cool to add when the question is litterly just is it cool…
The whole video is about adding them to the game though. I think that is context enough. I’ve already conceded to the point though, saying even if you took away half of the “cool” votes it still is the majority and way bigger than the forum poll. It wouldn’t be logical to think that many people aren’t able to comprehend the poll, or that many people watching an obscure youtube channel on an obscure game haven’t played it. It has to count for something. My only point is it’s not so cut and dry that players don’t want this mechanic added.
