And how accurate would a M1 Carbine really be? at the very worst what? 6MOA?
so 1 MOA is basically 1 inch deviation at 100 yards distance - one inch is 2.5 cm,
100 yards are like 90 meters
which means at ~100 Meters your impact would have like 15 cm deviation with a truly terrible 6MOA gun- which is still a smaller area than someone’s head.
I read that a M1 carbine could still reach 2MOA if you picked a really really good one.
so that would be 2 inch (5cm) deviation at 100 yards. which should be almost not noticeable in the combat distances we have in the game.
I accept that we have exaggerated dispersion values because in game combat distance are smaller than real life combat distances so to prevent SMG spam some nerf is necessary, but dispersion values in general are often illogical, like the cheap Horn StG is more accurate than state of the art StG44 or Thompson has different dispersion because of a magazine change, why?
Video game combat distance are smaller on purpose because its much more fun to shoot enemies you can clearly see, if combat distance was realistic, (depends on terrain) about a 500m average than you would be shooting at “small” targets. Should you still insist I hope you have 20/20 vision and don’t mind gazing at a 2D screen for minutes to find a small 3D object on it.
You can see them if you get closer. And with APCs and paratroopers, it isn’t a problem to get your entire team up close with you. The distance from your enemy is as far as you make it, but that doesn’t mean maps should be too large.
I used to love playing Squad back during beta - before the game turned to shit specifically because everyone was more or less a sniper and combat distances at below 100 meters would already be CQC.
Usually you fight at 200 - 300 meters, like in real life.
