Why not make artillery unavailable when someone has already called it?

Artillery spam has to be the most annoying thing right now, sometimes it feels like the whole enemy team are max level radiomen spamming artillery every 10 seconds around the objective, and you simply can’t push and defend/capture it because you’ll be either dead or concussed to the point of not being able to aim.

I’ve critisized BFV a lot for its flaws but one thing it got right is the reinforecements limit, when there can only be one artillery strike at one given moment called in, you have to wait until it’s over + some cooldown time to call your own.
I belive this would make perfect sense.

Also, on a related note, when I see a circle on the minimap, is it always enemy or sometimes friendly artillery too?
Would be nice to have the two variants have different colors, and I don’t mean “colorblind hell” red and green again, let us customize it, e.g. blue and red.

with the current cooldown that would just be a pain, radiosquads wasting time trying to mash 6 just for the inevitable troglodyte to put it on the objective again.

This would cut down on the spam but still have a steady stream of constant arty fire for the whole match. The downside would be you would have teammates raging at each other for using the arty on the wrong spot.

Even though arty spam is cancerous, it’s only fair to let people use the radio when it’s available to them, and not wait their turn in the key mashing queue, given that they’ve grinded their squad out and brought it along in their limited squad selection for this specific feature.

The red circle is both friendly and enemy arty spots, why it’s red is because both are equally deadly to both sides. The only real way to tell who’s who is by where and how it’s used and placed.

i would not care the least bit about arty and bomb spam if the fucking engineers fortifications were invulnerable to it but there is literally no point to putting down a single sandbag or barbed wire

I unlocked the engineer 2s MG nest. Guess what? Its completely pointless. One arty strike (of which we all know there is tons of) just knocks the gun off the mount. Glad I unlocked that!

One of many reasons it should have stayed with the engineer 1 squad.

Yeah I waited all that time mainly for that and its complete trash. Takes forever to make and is knocked off by a spammed arty immediately and there is no way to repair it besides building it again smh

They really need to do something, allowing people to call in art virtually constantly was never a good idea.
It’s one of the things that makes the game a much bigger struggle for new players.

Perhaps add a recharge bar.
If they use it before the bar is full the artillery isn’t as powerful (less shells, or smaller area, etc) so they can either spam weaker artillery, or wait until the bar is fully recharged and do a full artillery strike.

At the very least the bonus cooldown needs to be increased.
