Why no Winchester 1897 (trench gun) in USA TT?

Not sure if is has been asked but why is there no trench gun in the USA TT? Was there an event at one time where could earn a trench gun? Or a premium squad that featured the 1897? If not then a trench gun needs to be added, they were wildly used in WW2. Now not as commonly used as a m1 carbine or m1 grand. But if they added the Thompson 1921 which was probably used less (I could be wrong about that). Then they should add the Winchester 1897. A little off topic but they should also add a 1918 trench knife as an event award that would be a good event award in my opinion.

The trench gun has been sitting in the editor for ages but it has not been added in the main game yet. I dont think it needs to be tt since there are already like 3 shotguns but as a event reward it could work

So what your saying is, they have it already made and in the file they just have to add it? I would agree I wouldn’t mind it as a event award. They could do something like a ww1 event where you can earn a trench gun and the 1917 or 1918 knife. Or TT it i would be ok with both, if they add the 1897 they must at the ability to slam fire as an option.

Because they have to feed “new” weapons in dribs and drabs in events and updates, and not too quickly or they will run out of “new content” to fast!

And it is not a matter of “how important” or common the weapon is - it is whether they think they can get more players joining or staying in the game by this mechanism.

(assuming they give it any thought at all!)

It’s still the Winchester model 1912 he’s talking about the Winchester M1897 which isn’t even the same model. Bc if you add on the shroud & bayonet sleeve doesn’t make it the Winchester model 1897.

These two have two different operations and eras of gun design by browning, note the lack of photo I can provide of the Winchester Model 1897 I can show from ingame.

Ok yeah that’s the model 12 not the 1897, I agree with you to an extent about not adding everything at once. But saying they won’t add it just because it was mainly used I disagree with. That’s like watching saving private Ryan but with no m1 grands or m1 carbines it just doesn’t work. But again I get what you’re saying about not adding everything at once. But as for the 1897 it’s not like not adding it would ruin the WW2 experience unlike if a k98 or m1 grand wasn’t added would.

Another idea, If the 1897 gets added the way to do slam fire is do it like you would a select fire. Hit the button for manual/pump or hit it again and it becomes slam fire so you could choose if you want manual/pump or slam. As far as br goes it would probably be br 4. I would say make it br3 but if it ever got added it would probably be br4. I guess it depends on how you would rate the slam fire for the br rating.

Both M1912 and M1897 does slam fire but both stayed in service, tho in ww2 the Stevens 520-30 was the third most used shotgun which us also a improvement on the M1897 but guess who browning

Also the US Used a verity of shotguns during ww2 like the Ithaca actually saw service but atm I cannot for the life of find a photo from WWII

I actually didn’t know the model 12 did slam fire, i thought it was just the 1897 that had that future.
