I believe this has been debated a lot by the community and ultimately the answer was locking BR 1 by itself doesn’t help new players since they’ll still fight veteran players who are trying to stomp new players and as soon as they rank up from BR 1 they’d immediately by fighting Semi-Autos, 75mm tanks, planes with rockets etc…
The better idea was locking BR 5 by itself and putting ARs and bs wonder weapons by themselves.

They need the time, with out being dead within 5 secs of spawning, need to go in to controls learn stuff, look around, the maps, so much they don’t get time to do.

It would be nice considering the equipment gap between BRI and BRII. “Jumping” from the first to the latter wouldn’t be so harsh as there are automatic weapons as soon as BRI. And people could gather XP to get new BRII stuff before they actually play at that level, so that they’re ready when they decide to switch. At least they wouldn’t be repeatedly insta-gibbed by superior guns.
