This aircraft has no bombs but it has spots for them. Aircraft are useless without bombs.
I hope devs add them.

it is actually a great fighter in game against other planes i really liked using it
Probably because it shreds the F2A pretty easy as long as it isn’t surprised.
It’s pretty marginal vs everything else tho - since the 7.7mm MG’s have a hard time against the armour that all the other allied a/c have at least a little of.
Did kill a few A20’s with it tho - you pretty much have to hit engines and set them on fire.
Aircraft are not useless without bombs. You can certainly fight other planes or just strafe the ground

Strafing IS pretty useless tho, when you only have 2 x 7.7mm machineguns… I might have gotten as many as 2 kills with the A5 before I ditched it!

I didn’t even touch it.
Normally I’d say keep it for bomber intercept, a quick 1375 mission points, but 2x 7.7mm isn’t going to do much there…

Spitfire, Hurricane, P38, FW190, Re2000, C202…
They all have only MG/cannon but NO bombs or rockets.
Even the gold order planes.
So sad and useless.
Similar planes in Normady do have bombs or rockets, and plenty of them, so guess where I like to fly.

Not only that but if you kill your existing ground squad at the first siren for an incoming bomber raid you will struggle to get high enough and fast enough to attack at all… you can kill 2 A-20’s if you are already in the air and rearmed.
But there’s not a lot can replace it - the Ki-27 is essentially the same and Army so “out of theatre”. The Ki-43 is also army, but has much better performance and with 2 x 12.7mm much better armed - still no bombs if you take the earliest version.
The A6M2 floatplane might be an option - it has significantly less performance than the wheeled version so possibly that would help balance having much better armament than the A5.
Yeah they can always further nerf it by forcing you to take full fuel tanks.
In War Thunder the A6M float is actually pretty good but there you can decide your own fuel.
Still, a Ki-43 would probably be the logical choice but yeah, out of theatre.
