Why do devs waste resources on events, and then use the assets for nothing?

which is to point out that for them, and some of us, are not wast of resourches.

again.

even if you can’t use them in the base game.

it’s not an acknowledgement lol.

more so an outcry.

modding would be so much popular if it wasn’t dropped.

we used to have well over 1000 lobbies with 50 players in each.

no shit if you leave it to die and don’t provide creatores much needed QOLs and support is gonna dry out.

Except there are functional vehicles in the editor that are being overshadowed by newer ones that sometimes no one asked for.

( take for example the many hidden planes, the AEC armored car, the semi carro 13, as 42 ( granted needs some fixes etc )

which this game is filled with unused assets.

weather we like it or not.

… which none of them are suitable for.

… nor should be.

not if those can be reused in mods.

… they are if you play mods.
which you don’t.

some of them are.

but still.
… also the answer is modder.

it’s like christmas for editors. cause we get features through said events or april fools.

you may not even notice them.

but anyway. the rest is pretty much an agree to disagree i suppose.

beside, they did do that with the ww1 helmets.
didn’t they?.

I want enlisted to be a mainstream shooter. So, unfortunately, I would argue that catering to one audience over another is more important. So developing content which supports that direction is again, an important direction to take. I have made this post consistently throughout all my posts that enlisted needs new players. What attracts new players - lots of things, but fundamentally, it is an analysis of what a game has to offer. So, if content is sunk into an event, which produces no long-term tangible benefit to a new player, it on aggregate does not have a net plus to the game. Such is the reason I made this post, because I am always shocked that we have these elements of absolute content galore, and then droughts. A more viable solution would be to make content which is used in an event, then finds its way into an update. Not just to be shelved. (I actually went into this in a lot of depth when arguing for a new gold order store here: Enlisted Idea: A Reimagined Gold Order Store)

Ok. I am not a spokeman for Gaijin. I am very critical of Gaijin, as you can tell from the tone of this post.

Cool. I would rather we had a game filled with unused “usable” assets, then unused “unusable assets” because then there is a higher likelihood of usable assets finding their way into the game.

This shows where we fundamentally disagree. We need more WW2 themed events which are both fun e.g Op Market Garden, and then we can see the content generated from this find it’s way into the main game. Another example is Japan v Soviets - which eventually saw Manchuria introduced. So, yes, it can be done, and it should be done more.

Yes they did. From all the assets generated - they used helmets. Do you not see the comical nature in this?

They could have taken the mass assault element from the mode and applied it to other existing maps - like what I said right at the start of the post, which you clearly have not read, could produce a Stalingrad style enemy at the Gates fountain scene type mode. it could actually make DDAY invasion feel like an invasion! Gas attacks, trench warfare - elements also featured in WW2, shelved. This is also literally just 1 example, I am sure there are so many others people can think of.

So you actually agree - the developers should create more usable assets which find their way into WW2, just like the stahlhelms? Or do you think more useless content should be made?
