Why are we keep punishing the losing team?

They already endure so much abuse.

  • Gray zone tank camping
  • Teamers
  • 0 rally points, excluding the one created by you.
  • Fighting players with higher campaign levels.
  • Lose x0.5 bonus
  • Lose rank points

Why would anyone want to be on the losing side…? Every update gets worse and worse. How about some incentive to play on the losing side…? I don’t mind the abuse. But give me some XP for being on the top 3 at least :frowning:

The answer is:

Nobody wants to. Hence the high desertion rate, which I myself do often. It feels like such a waste of time sometimes, and mine is precious as it is for many others.

As long as there won’t be ANY INCENTIVE WHATSOEVER to remain in a loosing team, I will desert. And so will the majority of the player base.

on a game based mostly on grind, 0 reasons to stay on a loosing side.

but if one likes to enjoy frustration and reasons to complain after on threads or discords, over having fun on a casual game , sure. be my guess

Because deserting is an asshole move

You can make an asshole move and not be one, but it’s a gamey move to make.

Personally I have never left a game I started unless there was kind of technical glitch that booted me.

Good. I salute you!
Y’all need to remember to play games for fun. Just cuz you’re not winning doesn’t mean it’s not fun. Ive had bad matches on Moscow but for the most part it’s fun, win or lose.

It’s part of the immersion to me. You’re not gonna win each battle but damn well try!

Play every game as it presents itself. Only cowards desert in the face of a superior enemy. Desertion is a cancer to this game. Play for the immersion. Having to win all the time becomes a recipe for boring gameplay. Winning in the face of greater odds is a real adrenaline rush and more satisfying than winning with a team full of Marshalls or whatever.

Habitual quitters should be forced to bear a mark on their tag, for example a yellow streak for all players to see.

And youd be surprised how many desperate matches turned out to be wins in the end. Pretty satisfying

Oh yeah If I see the entire team has name decors I leave because I usually get teams of just bots.

don’t hate the player, hate the game.

The game is only as good as the dev and the player combined.

The solo player’s worst nightmare where having to deal 4 sweatlords that squad up together on the enemy team while my team is trash is an instant desert even if this is the game’s fault for allowing only 1 team to have a 4 stack squad without any compensation for the other.

There are some incentives tho. 1. some losing side of campaigns have much man power and faster zone capturing time. 2. Also noobs and braindead will bring down the quality of the winning side after a certain time. 3.it gives you much fun if play on the weak side with your friends.

However, this is still problematic. weaker side often has to lose for several updates (japanese being the exception) in order to reverse the situation. Also, for example, normandy Allies, they received bullshits for several campaigns… (The current cancer best way is still garand grenade launchers/ m2/ flamethrower + impact nades.) Further, people were often put into the losing side with already a point taken or 200 manpower lost with enemy building tons of AT guns, HMGs (used to be AAs).

People definitely have reasons to fled the battle or simply camping. Devs should either make the people not get into the gameplay that is already losing (if losing side fled, please let the wining side farm bots… good for everyone.) Or give boosters to people who are willing to stay and give them an incentive to try hard. Also maybe create an event for each capaign, placing aggregate goals such as the side that first won 2000 times received a decoration while the other side get a balance rework (increased manpower and etc.) The current way of adjusting balance is toooo infrequent.

They should allow us to know whose in squads so we know when to leave I usually just look if a bunch have name decors I dip. More than likely I won’t have any actual players.
