In games, the Australian forces seem to only have the Sten, guerrillas, and the Boomerang fighter.
(Atrocities committed by Japanese forces against Australian soldiers)
Nice picture choice
cause numbers in million
US 16.3
UK 5.9
India 2.5
Canada 1.1
Australia .73
Free French .6
The real question where are all the Canadian squads and equipment, or India, or french.
- Collaboration: Charlton collaborated with his friend and fellow gun enthusiast Maurice Field, who helped with testing and demonstrations. Charlton also brought in Syd Morrison, the owner of a motor mower company, to assist with manufacturing the parts.
- Prototypes and production: Following a successful demonstration for the New Zealand military, the government commissioned the conversion of 1,500 rifles. A number of prototypes were also later made in Australia by the home appliance company Electrolux.
would love to see the same squad with the electrolux version
There were approximately 1,500 Charlton automatic rifles manufactured in New Zealand during World War II. A separate, Australian version was also created, but production numbers were much lower.
New Zealand Charlton automatic rifle
- Manufacturer: Charlton Motor Works in Hastings, New Zealand.
- Total produced: Approximately 1,500 were made between 1942 and 1945.
by rule of fg42 this should be tech tree lol
There are actually more than that :
-
The owen squad you mentionned (old premium squad from Tunisia, not available anymore because they just use a TT gun)
-
P14 sniper squad
-
AC 1 tank squad
The Charlton squad is from New Zealand though not Australia.
As much as I like the Australian, I think they are quite over represented compared to any other Commonwealth nation in game. Particularly, Canada would deserve much much much more love given their significant contribution in the war (we could have something like a Ram tank squad or a Kangaroo APC squad for instance)
And there’s the other owen variant, the past GO/BP weapon.
Plus old event Austen squad.
Overall, there’s enough Australian content to have quite solid BR2 lineup.
And the Australian Air Force.
Out of all the pictures you could’ve chose
technically, the australians are the most prelevant sub nation of the uk having 5 squads:
premium plane:
allies_pacific_prem_pilot_fighter_1
TT partisans
squad_aus_partisan_2
Premium Snipers
allies_pacific_prem_sniper_1
Event Assaulters
allies_pacific_event_assault_1
Premium tank.
squad_aus_tanker_2_premium_2
which is why i suggested the electron not the charlton i looked it up named for its inventor
to put them in a barrel
errr…
I dont think the US took 16.3 million casualties in WW2.
Numbers served, not casualties
wait you thought uk took nearly 6 million casualties
I thought none of them took that many, but the the 16.3 million by the US was the most egregious, however numbers severed makes more sense.
Just thought you had misspelt casualty numbers when you said cause numbers.
sorry cause short for because of numbers
overall numbers or ratios Australia is adequately represented.
would like to see a few south african weapons though
and more is also better
but given its contribution Canada is really underrepresented
