Which PPSh is better on Berlin?

I was looking forward to using the drum one but to me it looks like the box version is more accurate and has better grouping at range despite the drum one having slightly better recoil stats in the description.
When i’m playing with the PPSh 41 box, 95% of the time it’s a matter of aim at the enemy, fire a short burst, enemy dies instantly but the drum one seems to be all over the place.

What’s your experience with them?

I know the box mag has 0 recoil when you go prone with it while the drum one has more recoil when prone compared to crouching.

Ppsh41 is ppsh41 with or withaut drum it depends on you whay you want use

It depends on your play style:

  • do you “itch” when your magazine isn’t completely full and feel an urge to reload? If so, the box mag ppsh is your best choice. I’m usually like this myself.

  • drum ppsh is great if you don’t dump the mag on a whim: you can clear entire squads with it.

In the end, both are great.

True but it takes longer to reload the drum.

Exactly: it’s why I suggested the box mag if like me you feel “itchy” when the magazine isn’t completely full: box mag can be reloaded very quickly, and you have more magazines.

Not exactly an itch but you’d enter a room with more confidence with 30 rounds in a box mag knowing that reloading is fast rather than 30 rounds in a drum knowing that it takes almost twice as long to reload it

Don’t have it yet

I’m game. It was the last firearm before swords and knives for a reason in the last event. There’s a real challenge in playing with that :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I refuse to use Fedorov in Berlin considering PPSh is a very important historical gun especially in the Berlin campaign. Sure I did use PPD when I was grinding Berlin but I got rid all of the PPDs once I got the drum mag PPSh a year ago.

The Fedorov is more unhistorical than the FG42 considering this gun is already obsolete in Soviet service especially at that point of the war.

In fact, I think PPS-43 has met all the needs. It has a fast reload time, a good firing rate, and enough bullets. However, PPSH has a slow reload time when it uses the drum, and a fast firing rate when it uses the magazine, resulting in a completely insufficient magazine
In terms of actual strength, the Federov is the real option for the Soviets, but if it is not to be considered, the PPS-43 may be the best option

And I gave up the Federov after buying 5 of them!!

PPSh all the way baby!

As for which mag - drum, always. Will reload to carry the max (or just to have the drum that still has most rounds loaded) before charging into a room, or when I have time - but there’s no getting past more is better, and 71 is more than 30!
