Sometimes it’s fun to take a break from the assaulter-engineer-mg rinse and repeat, so I wonder which non-meta (AT, mortar, flamer, etc) squads do you find most viable/fun in which campaigns?
Personally I like running a Radio squad with 2 radiomen for smoke/artillery area denial + assaulter for cqb + engineer for rallies.
I run flametroopers as my basic assault squad. Imo they are far more interesting than assaulters.
And with flamethrower 2 it’s even better.

Even in open maps like Tunisia/Moscow?
Whenever I tried flamethrowers so far I got brrrrrr’d by PPSh/Tommy gun before I could get to flamethrower range but I guess I’ll give them another try
in some cqc situation in Berlin they can clear entire points rather easily, but they are just too situational.
Almost all points are in buildings (except maybe one or two in the whole game) so there is a lot of room for FTs to shine.
Open spaces aren’t any problem as you have a rifle so you are fully capable of defending yourself like any other soldier. Additionally I run with smoke grenades to cover my advance.
The only downside is the weight of the gear. But with recently added water flasks that give you infinite stamina for 2min, it may not be a huge deal (I haven’t tested this configuration yet).
all of them are viable if you aren’t a shit player

Soviet Tanker II in Berlin with the IS-2 being situational like I could see this thing useful like when enemy has lots of Panthers or just need an extra tank to use with the big caliber HE.
Is it not a straight up upgrade from T-34/85?
I have the thing from War Thunder and the thing is, that long reload time where a missed or a bounced shot can mean death especially against enemy tanks that have a gun capable of penetrating the tank.
long reload + relatively poor armor its not a good combination, imo is better to stick with the t34-85
It’s not even the 1944 version of the IS-2 with the sloped front hull and a 12.7mm DShK on the hatch. The T-34-85 can fire like around 2-3 more shells at the same time the IS-2 finishes reloading.
T-34-85 is much more versatile tank.

Flamers are one of the most fun squads in the game, so i take them out often when i have a free slot and dont need to level a new squad.
Arty squads are my second pick for utility with the smoke barrage, it helps so much in open maps, that im just confused that it is just so little.
