So of the confirmed potential factions in the game (US , British , German , Russian)
Which campaigns do you want to see?
Keep in mind they found stalingrad stuff in the files , so that one is off your list. And im only assuming they are putting brits in because of the PIAT and the enfield being in the game.
here are mine
Kursk - Black day in july
The largest single land engagement in history. Million man armies both clashing over the open fields of the russian steppe. This campaign would be different in that it would feature long range tank combat and heavy use of the games trucks to help get players around to capture objectives.
Seelow heights - One last defense
Some of the most brutal fighting that occurred during the war between the germans and the soviets occured at the “gates of berlin” in the seelow heights that lay just 50 miles east of the city. Here just 100,000 germans defended against a russian hoard of over 1 million men. 10 to 1. Gameplay would be invasion style with the germans defending heavily against tanks and air power. Lots of trenches and log bunker defensive positions for the germans.
Probably will not happens as a seperate campaign. It would be top similar to Berlin with almost the same equipment. Maybe as a “second map” for Berlin - Normandy campaign has two big maps for now (each of them containing few maps that we play on). So maybe that could be The way to introduce Seelow heights.
I personally would like to see Finnish forces (There are some weapons in the files) and fights between Allies and Germany in Italy (Monte Cassino etc.)
Devs said in Q&A that they want The campaigns to be different from each other nad provide different experience.
Seelow and Berlin would one differ by the second one being pure urban map.
Im not against it - I just think it will not happen as a fully separate campaign.
Again, Seelow maps as a part of Berlin campaign would be a great idea. It just isn’t enough to make another one, especially when there are do many totally different war theatres
these 3 could probably be combined into a Pacific Islands (US vs IJA) campaign:
Saipan - single invasion map?
Philippines
Iwo Jima - single invasion map?
while Japan has not been “officially” confirmed, there were some major battles in the Pacific and it would be safe to assume that Japan will be added in the future
See at the German fraction for example. They are already present in 3 campaigns nad will be in fourth. In each campaign they have A lot of different equipment (as for now they share Kar98, MP40, pistols, MG34 and Gewehr 41). It would be hard to find do many differences between Seelow and Berlin (for both sides)
again you dont understand that unless gaijin plans to REALLY stretch out the 1941 content in russia , then ALL of the future russian vs german campaigns will have very very similar weaponry.
you are worrying about gear which is irrelevant to the real game changers in campaigns which is vehicles and map types.
I am worrying about splitting playerbase even more for basically the exact same content and wasting Darkflow (not Gaijin) resources on making that as a separate campaign instead of something that would make more sense than two battles that happened basically days away from each other.
I was watching a documentary about the Korean war last night, and it was basically the Red Army (North korean/chinese) vs American. All the gear for both sides was very similar to their WW2 counterparts, except the perishing tank, some different fighter bombers, and early helicopters.
Or at least something original, not something like Stalingrad that we see in almost every game. I want to play new campaigns that are not that much explored and are still very interesting.
In Tunis there will also be Italian and British Equipment soo we will see something new there, and thats why im really looking forward to that campaign, especialy when that is something that is largery forgotten.
Eastern front, 1942-1943. Rhzev, Stalingrad, Kursk (Prokhorovka). Would also be cool to see some partisan/resistance fighting, although I am not sure how to ensure proper balance, given that partisans/resistance fighters were never expected to take points per se, which is what this game is built around.
Battle of Kursk! I wish it with all my heart.
I want a nice, spacious map and to defend my position. I want to fight in open spaces rather than dense forests and cramped cities.
I want to experience World War II on a map that looks like that beautiful landscape of a shooting range!
And while I’m at it, I’d like to see infantry seating added to tanks, so they can be mounted.
