For now the only way for talk with friends in battle is using discord (built in voice channel is bad) for send private massage the only way is forum
Stated the game is in beta i dont expect community functions in game before the full release

PM, Region chat, Recruit chat (squad making) Q&A Chat…etc. These one still missing fro mthe game now.
These chats could helps the ppl’s orientation an informate them about Enlisted basics and others!
Warframe, Crossout has that already and its works really cool.
Developers could also consider community forging options like this, and gives little bonuses when you playing together instead of solo. Community challenges etc.
