Plus majority of whales are collector’s so they’ll buy basically everything. Taking this option from them is basically just wasting money for no good reason whatsoever.

Maybe they drop the pacific update along side the news
if they had instead called their table something more accurate of what it actually was, like future order of unlock progression links table or something like that, then people would not have been confused about what it actually was
but it wasn’t really that either as it was not layed out that way
it did appear to be more of a grouping of tiers that they would then later pluck things for their BR divisions
either way, it appeared to be just a very early draft of that
the entire thing is just one sad joke anyway, I can understand them wanting to reorder the unlock progression in this game in some places, and that new tech tree would make sense to help players unlock things more in line with what they want to focus and play. But then there are massive downsides to that also, such as players focusing only on meta and basically reducing the diversity of things that show up on the battlefield even more than now because players will be less likely to bother unlocking some things
so that is another negative to this new system

I mean at least it should be plausible the implement everything without the BR (faction and tech tree merge).
They could also decide to just merge all factions and keep the separate campaign level progress.
