Was that when they added airstrikes in all the campaigns?
Don’t play much any more - but got an artillery task to kil 8 people - FFS took forever - eventually swapped it out - used to be a reasonable one… but what is it now 90 second or 2 minute reload??
yea i don’t think the way DF changes things in game is necessarily good.
Everything shoud be powerful and have its own disadvantages same time.
Like i would like to see something like if engineer would build a radio station or mast some kind the artillery would be then powerful someway, that would contributed well to the game as pilots would have yet another task to accomplish. I kinda hope this is what they gonna go for eventually. because nerfing and buffing could go on forever.
Because there’s group of very loud and overdramatic gatekeepers on this forum. Everyone should just run with bolt actions, vehicles shouldn’t even exist. That’s what they want. They think this game is all about infantry.
It’s doable over multiple lives or a lucky strike but ye. Arty is now more reasonable over multiple squads/players and not 1 soldier spamming it over and over
at this moment the aircraft artillery is in its best state if it’s an open map it’s going to be very dangerous but an enemy pilot can shoot down 2 planes or 5 if he has some skill
Can’t be spammed but it lets you launch the attack several times, the games last 15 minutes or more so You can use like 3, 4 or 5 times
Because now AI always prioritizing stay away from artillery. All AI, if without player’s direct commend will avoid artillery even by give up attack/defend.
Actually, you can use it to force blocking AI path.
Though, I think AI now is way over focus on avoiding arty. Literally you can only kill human’s squad by arty. Also cool down time is too long.
That’s nonsense - the only way an arty squad can make multiple strikes is if you keep it so far away from combat that it suffers no casualties - so that’s a whole squad effectively removed from the actual combat of the game.
Effectively makes artillery squads either no better than regular ones with a spotter, or removes their fighting ability from the game.
If it was really a problem with arty spam (and I disagree there was) then an increase to 40 or 45 seconds would have been a more reasonable step.
arty is most annoying thing for me, red circle no go zone that bots still fail to avoid, constant screen shaking and no counterplay.
instead radio squad gets airstrike, that makes skies more alive and get good score for killing it.
and 8 min timer is for individual squad, so if you die and get to use radio squad again it’s old 4min.
which is good, afk dude can’t just minimize game and press one button every 4 min, but radio squad is still viable. i just hope they don’t nerf it more so no one uses it and back to full auto spam we go
Sure - but now if you are hiding with your artillery squad you are doing nothing at all for 90 seconds and hten 15 seconds of “action” - so while you may enjoy that (and that is fine) you have become a drag on your team due inactivity.
And You can do a lot more with one assaulter/machine gunner than some idiots assaulter squad if You know what You are doing.
Hell pacific is so screwed right now like Tunisia was in beginning, so sniping bots coming out of spawns is best way to get kills, You don’t need whole squad for that, just sniper rifle, ammo box and You can pick it up 4 times if You hide bots.
With bomber strikes now on ebery campaign i think there is too much arty. Radio squad is okay but IMO, they should now remove radio man from certain soldier classes. Another thing is realism. Having bomber raids in Berlin battle is so clownworldish. I doubt nazis even had any bombers squadrons available in Berlin at that time and reds could easily bomb down their own men if they used bombers in city so close to enemy positions.
