really, whats up with them?
according to their wordings, they wanted to make each paratrooper squad unique.
and since they ( probably ) runned out of ideas, they wanted to make both the soviet event and premium squads, the only squads with the ablity to change their weapons.
it is kinda an ever green type of unit. because you can pretty much use it at any brs.
on the other hand, other para squads do have some differences too.
but not on par.
anyway,
the italian para had access to 6 ( very bad ) smgs but 6 flame throwers ( type 1 )
the german event para have access to 6 fgs with grenade launchers.
the german premium para have 6 rare fgs
the other german premium para have 6 smgs ( yet it’s being able to bring br II weapons into br I )
the british para event has access to 6 lmgs with 100 rounds
the other british para event has access to 6 smgs and different kits
the american premium para has access to 6 smgs with 100 rounds
the american event para has access to 6 semi auto carbines… and that’s it
the japanese event para has access to… bolt action rifles
the japanese premium para has access to br IV Hei LMG with shield
so… more over, most of them are different.
but that’s somewhat arguable.
it’s worthed to mention that all if not most paratrooper weapons in the box are different.
and present some different loadouts.
interesting train of thought but i kinda feel the execution is kind of lazy tbh
they call that unique? more like limiting…
well, i do think they did putted some effort and thoughts behind each.
they aren’t just copy and paste.
however, i can see how people would rightfully point out the astronomical differences between the soviets paratrooper squads, and pretty much any other.
because they have a greater flexibility compared to others that primarily relays on boxes ( which you cannot change either ).
kinda like customization, they brought such issues on their selves for kinda no reason, with no " easy " fixes on sight.
i mean, fixes can be planty, but most would end up in the no no zone because you would inevitable end up with pissed off people getting their premium squads changed.
i think the right word would be different.
but eh… yeah, like most event squads, those are limited.
and not flexible compared to the soviet ones.
that’s a really lazy excuse there are so many new guns that they could add and will be adding for the soviets
(soon added as a BP weapon)
i guess so.
in my opinion, every paratrooper squad should get the ability to change weapons based on player preference.
the only thing that should remain different, would be weapons inside the boxes.
as it goes for the weapons, just make them available in the event pool, so more benefits for developers to detatch those weapons from the paratrooper event squads, and include them in the silver boxes. ideally, players would be able to use those weapons onto other squads ( like the conversioned ppsh, breda, stinger, etc etc )
( more gambling ehi. )
but to be fair, those weapons are not that special. and shouldn’t be limited to only one squad.
for example, the paratrooper semi auto carbine.
i would really love to use it on my non paratrooper line up.
its a no brainer, the ability to switch gear - and thus move to different BRs is way too valuable to be locked behind just one squad for one nation.
i guess the same should go for all event squads.
but that would then turn into a bigger work to do, and i guess they wouldn’t remain unique anymore.
unfortunately, i would like to know the answer, but we’ll never get any about such matter.
we can only speculate.
okay true that, yet again another reason why Paras should become TT squads.
which is again ridiculous to think off, if its an event squad, why on earth does it have the ability to switch gear to begin with?
They should finally add them to tech tree with customizable personal weapons and boxes as well.
eh… personally i don’t like that.
not to gate keep them, but to make them rare.
the whole concept it’s just plain dumb.
but again, that’s personal reasons.
not sure how different would be from other shenanigans we are used to.
as it goes for the customizable box,
would be cool.
Definitely less dumb than guerrillas.
And they’re definitely no longer as versatile as they used to be. They’re just pure non meta gimmick nowadays. Only useful against clueless casual/bot teams.
can’t disagree there
like, i like both classes ( in theory ), but have been handed in a very questionable manner.
it’s like, you are having an issue, you just accentue the issue rather than trying to fix it.
" gray zone is a problem? here, have a class that can go in the gray area zone ".
it’s like:
" do you struggle with alcohol? here, a free pub access for all your needs. but only twice a month. "
its definitely more annoying when my enemy team spams paras then it is broken, people just dropping on roofs, dropping on tanks, not playing the objective OR dropping right into the objective to force a quick capture - I shoot them down very quickly nowadays.
it indeed only works against people who aren’t paying attention.
That being said, I still believe the extra vitality alone to be powerful enough to make them Meta.
