Could someone explain to me whether custom uniforms are becoming premium items now, or if it’s just the extra helmet armor feature? I spent a lot on camo uniforms for many of my squads in Tunisia, Berlin, and Normandy, are those uniforms and helmets going to become premium items? Are they going to disappear, or what exactly is happening?
I don’t know, but I ain’t buying uniforms, I have to draw the line somewhere. If they want to give me a uniform change order, I will use it, but if I have to pay for it? Not happening, at least for me.
I think even snails haven’t come up with an answer to this question. They did it simply for the sake of doing it—because one has to do something, yet they don’t know what to do.
I feel the same way; a lot of what I achieved was thanks to putting a lot of effort into the the game and events. It was worth it, as I got the squads I’d always wanted when I started the game but if they’re going to take all that away, even the things we already bought, I see no reason to keep participating in anything.
This is undoubtedly annoying; ever since they introduced those gold chests, it’s like they’re anxious to make money, even stating that they wouldn’t remove the Soviet body armor because many people paid real money for it, that’s basically the only reason players “let it slide”
And now this, on top of the fact that you can’t save a uniform preset for each campaign… buying uniforms for every single squad is a real hard task.
you keep your items, but some of them ( as of yet, only these )

will be locked behind gold ( despite being acquirable now in the live version ).
it is possible in the future more premium item will be locked to gold as well.
At some point, basically ever since I saw that the premium STG45 squad had a pretty interesting camo, I found it odd that there were others like it available for tickets; if they end up becoming strictly paid-only, I wouldn’t be surprised, yet at the same time, I kind of would be.
My take on body armor might be a bit off-topic, but here goes. I believe body armor is a really cool part of history that deserves better implementation than just a customization item offering ridiculous stat boosts. So, the armor needs to be reasonably rare and offer a noticeable bonus, without upsetting the game balance. Here is how I envision it: the armor should be rare—available only as a one-off event reward or for unique soldiers from Battle Passes and events. It offers absolutely no protection against rifle or intermediate-caliber rounds. By default, the armor is classified as BR3. If armor (not open body parts) hit by shrapnel, pistol rounds, or shotgun pellets, the player still takes full damage but cannot be killed outright; instead, they are merely knocked down—a state they can recover from without using a medkit. This creates an item that provides a tangible benefit without deciding the outcome of smg firefights, simply giving the player a better chance of surviving them.
If body armor is to be removed—or its bonuses stripped away—it would probably be best to let players keep the cuirases they have already acquired with their existing stats, treating them as unique items that are no longer available for purchase.
If I were faced with a choice—to remove it completely or to make it just a cosmetic without any functional effect—I would choose complete removal. I don’t want to see that thing as some silly, non-functional cosmetic feature.
That sounds reasonable; it would also give new players (who often find themselves up against those advantages in lower BRs of Berlin and Heilongjiang) a better chance to actually do something, Japanese SMGs for instance can’t really do much against this at medium range.
I have over 100 of those uniform orders that i only ever used to change my soldiers nationality
Also i find body armors in this game stupid, its ww2
I mostly play as the Germans and the Japanese; the Germans have uniforms with a mottled pattern, and for the Japanese… it’s a way to get them something other than those shorts they wear even on the China map, where temperatures are supposedly relatively low…
Regarding that, the representatives themselves admitted it leans towards “pay-to-win” on top of the fact that they already favor the Russian or Soviet faction. Generally speaking, the old Enlisted was better because the weaponry was more grounded in the reality of its actual use during the specific campaigns and time periods; for instance, now you see 1944-era weapons in battles from 1941 or 1942.
I miss when the game still had campaigns, but i think the reason why it was removed is because the community was too divided
Technically, yes; for instance, I think the majority of German players were in Normandy, Berlin, and Tunisia, while the Soviets had more active players in Stalingrad (among other places), and the US forces were mostly split between the Pacific and Normandy. Personally, I definitely didn’t like open maps, so I simply avoided campaigns that featured a lot of them.
You mean the situation in the test server where many outfits cannot be bought with appearance vouchers.
I suspect Gaijin wants to boost revenue and squeeze more from players.
In War Thunder, once you buy a skin or decoration, you can apply it to all your tanks of that vehicle type.
But in Enlisted, a single uniform only works for one individual soldier; it cannot be applied to every member of the squad.
Compared to War Thunder, where a vehicle cosmetic costs a few hundred golden eagles, fully outfitting an entire infantry squad in Enlisted costs 5 to 9 times more.
I believe they saw this big difference in monetization and made changes to the appearance voucher system accordingly.
That certainly seems to be the case; even the few camouflages given out during events aren’t really anything special, since they’re for very specific vehicles and it’s the same story with the uniforms. The upside is that, for now, you can still unequip them. The tricky part is figuring out which squads actually have those uniforms; I, for instance, ended up checking all my squads even the oldest ones because I knew I’d bought quite a few. What I hadn’t realized was that they remained tied to those specific squads. If they eventually turn into premium items and disappear… well, the game would be pretty much doomed for a lot of people.
I believe this is a major issue. Originally these uniforms could be purchased with outfit vouchers, but now that option has been taken away from players. This is indirect exploitation. It is like telling everyone all golden cards will be invalidated and converted into ordinary silver coins.
This sounds a lot like after German reunification, when West Germany effectively turned the valuable East German marks held by East German citizens into worthless paper.
This is a matter of trust. These cosmetics were redeemable with vouchers, yet the devs removed this option when adding new outfits. It would have been better if they never made them available for voucher redemption in the first place. This change breaks the prior agreement, and it is a poor decision.
In War Thunder, when I buy a skin or decoration, I unlock it for all nations and all tanks. A badge or decal, once purchased, can be applied to any vehicle. Enlisted works differently: each uniform only fits one single soldier. Uniforms function more like disposable consumables here.
Uniforms are already pricey, but outfit vouchers gave us an alternative way to get them. To fully kit out my Soviet squad with plate armour cosmetics, I would need outfit vouchers earned from four full battle passes. If I own 12 different squads and want unique uniforms for Berlin, Tunisia, Ardennes and Stalingrad respectively, and if those outfits become gold-locked with no voucher option, the total inflated cost may even cover three premium squads.
I hope the developers release an official explanation for these uniform changes soon. Players fear the worst-case scenario: some outfits get revoked without player consent, and we cannot redeem them using equivalent currency such as outfit vouchers.
