As the title asks, what will happen to our current builds when/if these countries get their own factions?
I like my mix of American and British units in the current Allied faction. If the British get their own faction, will the American’s lose access to British gear and units?

Well they have said that the Commonwealth and Italians won’t be getting factions with this update, so at the very least this won’t be an issue until then.
I’m curious how it will work for all their non-primary weapon equipment, axes, ammo bags, etc.

For now since they’re together they should have both sets available because I prefer to use faction specific gear. Heck I don’t even like using American squads in Tunisia because I have to use British grenades and knives

I would like the option but I feel like they would be worried about confusing people with duplicates of every piece of equipment.
They don’t have to duplicate it. They could just let the American’s keep the gear then start a brand new tech tree for the Brits. Same for the Germans and Italy.

Except they have explicitly said they are not doing that in this update, so there would be a significant period where there is just a duplicate of everything available.

I was not saying that they were going to do it soon. I said “when/if.” Not every discussion is about the lastest Q&A post and the upcoming update.
I am only bringing it up now for discussion because it has been mentioned often lately.

Maybe just all Italian and British equipment will be moved to their new own warehouses? Your American/German squads will lost British/Italian gear and Italian/British squads will lost American/German gear. All equipment removed from squads will be transferred to warehouses. You will nothing lost. I think this is a simple and maybe logical solution?

Your grammar is a bit bad, so I am not sure I understood what you meant.
But if I am unable to use British gear while playing the Americans, then I definitely did lose something. It would mean I would only be able to use half of what I unlocked.
For example, I would lose access to the Churchill, my favorite tank. As well as that 4 man flam thrower squad from the tunsia campaign.
If those became British only, I would have reunlock everything under their tree. Making all the American Allied equipment I unlocked pointless.
Hmm… I think that everything you unlocked during the Allied campaigns should be unlocked in the British tech tree. It would be more or less the same way they handle it now after the big update. Only those things that will be completely new or that you have not unlocked in the Allied campaign will remain unresearched. At least that’s how it makes sense to me.

I would imagine if you unlock it now/while its merged you will get it grandfathered in. Im grinding Tunisia for the Fiat for that reason as I’m already done with all other campaigns I care to do
On the forum for Enlisted, a thread did appear,
Someone wondered with worry and fear,
What’ll happen to gear if Brits and Italians enter,
Will they lose their weapons in some kind of venture?
But fear not, dear poster, for the game will find a way,
To ensure all players can enjoy and play,
Their current gear might need some diversity,
But rest assured, they’ll still fight with intensity.
Perhaps new weapons will be available,
Or old favorites remodeled and palpable,
Or maybe just some new skins and style,
That’ll make your gear stand out and worthwhile.
So don’t fret, dear poster, your gear will endure,
Just keeping playing and having fun for sure,
Enjoy the game, and its ever-changing factions,
And let your worries be replaced with satisfaction.

When Italy was separated from Germany in War Thunder and became a standalone tree,
Italian planes in the German tree (including premiums) were no longer available for research or purchase. People who already owned them got to keep them, but they would stay as discontinued duplicates.
All pre-existing Italian planes reappeared as new vehicles to be researched (or bought) in the new Italian tree.
(Nobody made a big deal, since they were all low tier planes with very low requirements).
The official statement was that since those planes were originally released as German, and people over time had spent game currency and gold on them as such, shifting them into another tree would cause legal issues (basically “I bought a premium for nation X and now that premium is in nation Y”).
Of course, this causing players having to grind the same stuff again was a totally unintended and despicable side effect…
Therefore,
Once the split happens, expect to research the same stuff again from scratch.

Not really, more like moral issues. They could easily do something like and it would be completely okay in this matter.

I think if the split happen we keep everything UK and italy equipment/squad already researched in those new tree, there are 0 reason for make use re-grind those thing for the beginning again in enlisted

That was their official excuse.
Still 0 reason, warthunder was a case a part because those was mostly biplane and prewar bomber, enlisted have already a complete Italian tree in tunisia and normandy between gun, veichle and squad
0 reason for make them new unlock and piss people this time, and for UK is the same
I’m not saying they should, just remembering how they did.
Same happened to other “foreign” vehicles (Swedish, Israelian, Chinese) whenever their national tree appeared.
still was different
Mostly of this example before was premium veichle not researched one, this mean that you dont have from the beginning the progression one, in enlisted is different, almost all equipment is progression unlocked and you already have it in your account, once the split happen common sense say we keep everything withaut need to research it from 0
What you describe happen only if developers decide to fuck the common sense
