What type of gun does AVS and FG belong to? semi-automatic or automatic?

I know AVS belongs to semi-automatic in CRSED.

When discussing with other players, I heard them said “AVS and FG is fully automatic rifle. So AVS and FG shouldn’t be nerf in the last patch”.

Is this reasonable?

I think based on the reason “We want each class of weapon to have its own niche of use.”, the rifles have automatic mode should also receive the some nerfing treatment. Otherwise it is impossible for me to replace them with bolts

but they don’t nerf them in the last patch.

I’d say, they don’t belong to regular trooper at all. M2 carbine & AVT too.

They are select fire rifles. I dont think the guns need to be nerfed but I dont think every trooper, engineer, radio operator, flame thrower and AT soldier should have them. Maybe make them useable only by engineers or make a new class. Either way everyone shouldnt have them

M2 is kinda wierd
It might fit assaulters/ tankers better as IRL it was designed as a backup weapon for non combat units and is very similar to smgs/assault rifles

Yeah even the game calls the m2a1 as a pdw

Am I right that the M2 got also nerfed when DF nerfed the M1 Carbines?

Nope. Feels the same to me atleast

Really? Because after the rof nerf of the M1 you were not able to modify/ upgrade the rof of M2 too…

Ah I didnt check upgrades. Very possible. Surprise another nerf to a gun that didnt need it

M2 wasn’t touched, m1c was touched to be like m2 and m1 with HE grenades which was a lose of 15% rof increase and a decrease of the damage upgrade from 20% to 10%. Fg42 still has these two upgrades btw

I feel the opposite has happened and that all select fire weapons were buffed, I’m finding that the AVS/FG42/M2 are significantly easier to control, like the Vertical recoil was reduced.

I don’t know how the game classifies them, but M2 Carbine is an assault rifle (although chambered in a rather weak round when in comes to intermediate cartridges), AVS-36 and AVT-40 are battle rifles, or at least I think that English nomenclature classifies them as such.
And then there is the FG 42. It was designed as a do-it-all weapon for paratroopers. It is select fire and chambered for a rifle cartridge, and it was meant to replace all weapons in their service. So it is a mixture of a battle rifle, semi automatic rifle and a light machine gun.
