%80 of mgs are useless now. I cant mount properly. Aim angle is even narrower than before and recoil is much worse when its MOUNTED.
If devs want us to use run and gun type mgs (like BAR), then give everyone a bar or dont even give us any mg.
I want to use my mg as it used in real war: mounting back and downing infantry from long range
Even cod waw has better mounting mechanic than this.
Devs have tons of time and energy to design complex maps like tractor factory but not impelemnting mounting mechanics ?

I’d say not much, they were always shit in their intended role. And each update made them a bit worse.
You may not like it but that’s what 2 years of progres in development look like.
Also most of the playerbase doesn’t give a fuck. And it never did (at least that’s what I observed).
Because as long as SMGs and ARs work as intended, it’s the best ww2 game on the market

lets face the truth the biggest distance from your spawn and the point is 200m, the map are heavy cqc focused, so mg can be used only as glorified full auto shotgun in almost all situation

IMO if the mounting mechanics worked as intended mgs would be in a fine and balanced place, but since mounting doesn’t work they are kind crap since the dispersion on them is wild especially when you’ve moved literally at all. I think if there was a mechanic like in BF5 where proning gives you the bipod effect automatically that’d put a band aid on the mgs till the mounting gets fixed.

Mounting was always unreliable so I would just put a sandbag with an engineer. But now it feels like I can’t aim down as much as before and dispersion was increased greatly. Previously you could reliably mow down regular infantry and your main enemy was other MGs, tanks and snipers. Now anyone can put you down with a regular rifle as you hardly able to hit them.
I thought it’s just Japanese MGs are crap like this, Switcher to Moscow to my favorite MG team and they are pure trash now. The only use is to run and gun… just what everyone was complaining about MGs over a year ago

With some luck and skill, even SMG can kill you at mid-long range.

Although MGs are trash when used by players, they are my favorite to place for bots. Place them in a shovel trench, by windows or cover and they rack up kills pretty nicely
