Ik this topic doesn’t really lead to any important discussion, but I’m just bored and thought to myself, what is everyones favorite fighter? I’d say mine is the P-40, even tho its bomb load is tiny but mighty its is amazing at dog fighting, my close second would probably be the P-51D or the Boomerang.

I feel bad leaving behind the legendary Messerschmitt BF109, 50kg bombs aren’t enough to me
Downside of the ME410 is the aiming sight, a bit too clumsy.
But if you want to deliver a proper ride to hell, look no further than the Junkers Ju188. 250kg x 6 bombs

If i would play America i’d love to try the Republic P47, and the damn P38 and its rockets

BF 109 G-6 because it has a lot of anti-air capabilities, but also a few bombs that I can drop on points
Also a big fan of the Reisen Zero, though I barely get a chance to dogfight with it

The 30mm BF-109 for pure dogfighting ability. If multirole is important then probably the FW-190 with rockets.

I too like the p40, but Kingcobra is fun on Berlin, amazing visibility and a lethal cannon. As for Axis, the Re2000N(?), on Tunisia is an amazing, but winner has to be Bf109G10. Although I love flying 109E7 on Moscow too.

Every fw in-game, but mostly the berlin one. Berlin fw is by far my favorite plane. It’s just… Amazing

Does the FW-190 that is classified as CAS in Berlin count as a fighter? That one is also great for multirole capability. Additionally the G.55 in Tunisia flies like a dream and has a good bomb loadout for hitting a single target hard.

I’d say it still counts as a fighter, I don’t count planes like the Ju 88, A-20, Ju 87, SBD, and the IL2, anything else including twin engine fighters like the P-38, BF110, and the Beaufighter count as fighters in my eyes.

P-51D and P-40E. The P-51D has the best bomb load of any fighter while having good flight performance and good guns, while I just have a soft spot for thr the P-40E IRL which translates to a bit of a soft spot in game. However, that does not mean it’s a bad plane in by any stretch of the imagination, with it’s guns, ok flight performance and resilience to rifle caliber MGs, which is a great deal of what both models of the P-40 have to face in game. An honorable mention goes to the Fw-190A-8 and the P-38J though.
Ki 61, or the Re 2001, the G 55 is pretty Nice as well, I do love the turn fun of the Hs 123 and the I 153 as well, the I 16 is also good fun.
