What keeps you playing?

For me the answer is that they barely manage to hold my attention. This game is inherently not rewarding and frustrating because of how bots work.

Hunting bots is neither rewarding nor immersive (because of their behavior), but that’s what you do most of the time. On the other hand, you mostly die to other players who often intentionally try to make that experience as annoying as possible for you. Perhaps they do that to make up for the unrewarding bot kills.

Then there are also massive progression issues, which is a topic so huge that I’d rather not waste everyone’s time with it. In short, it doesn’t help make the game more rewarding, quite the contrary.

I keep quitting and coming back to see if anything changed enough to make me stay. They improve some small things, but other than that nothing changes.

Nothing. The missing animation update and no old premium squad upgrades keep me away from playing it

I played originally for the game itself. I’m a huge History and WW1 and 2 buff. And I’ve enjoyed FPS in the past (wife and I played competitive CSGO etc). So it checked all the right boxes.

Further to that , being able to do small unit tactics, and the engineering was to me beyond something I had seen before.

What has kept me is partially the content, though the Devs do need to learn how to roadmap their game. I’ve seen many other small studios do that very effectively, and open communication helps.

The other part are the friends I’ve made while playing. I keep playing because they are here as well , and we have a good bond playing together.

This - the shorter games with much less running.

Plus progression system - sad tho’ it is to admit, “grinding games” do have an addictive quality - “just 5 more games to get the next level”…

i buy the game in 2020

i need play and complete the game (all squads in max level in every faction in every campaing)

It’s not just max level, it is max perks and planes and tanks maxed and fully upgrade pilots and tailgunners too.

I love this game, but feel sometimes a roadmap of what is next just the big stuff, would just get me more hooked than I already am.

I’m a WW2 fan, I used to go to airshows, the combined arms really works in Enlisted, despite what people say.

I would like some more content, typhoon, bullet holes in planes, extended Tunisia and Stalingrad, paratroopers, let’s do our own Remagen like HLL, I bet we could do it better too!

Oh yes up for any new campaign too, this game has its flaws but on the whole I can overlook them, when flying my FW in Tunisia taking out the annoying CAS / Beaufighters, or one shotting Sherman’s devasting my team, or flaming all the defenders on a point.

I kinda wanna say the grind but it’s not actually the grind, but a nonexistent grind in stalingrad is something I absolutely dislike and I now regret buying the full access.

That being said this game being a WWII game that forces nations to use their own equipment is why I play it. If it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t be playing.

The only FPS game with WW2 Eastern Front that isn’t walking simulator and released after 2010.

  1. The gameplay is decently fast paced, i dislike games that are “walking long time only to get camped”-simulators
  2. Squads, tanks & aircraft all mixed in together is really fun
  3. There are a lot of guns, squad compositions, etc. to try out
  4. Feels like the game is in constant development (though somehow not as much as before)
  5. I think the daily - weekly - battlepass - event task grind gives me a good achievement anchor as well.

It’s kinda mix of things.
1)Enlisted is unique in it’s own way, meaning there are no alternatives to the type of gameplay that this games has to offer. *Despite the fact that bots and squad commands are still less than adequate
2)I play all campaigns, all factions meaning it’s slightly less boring
3)Grind. I think my highest campaign level is 20 so there is a lot of things yet to unlock and use.
4)People I sometimes play with cause withous squads Enlisted would have been dead already.

Though to be honest I’ll probably gonna take a loooong break from Enlisted again. The event was fun and despite some drawbacks it brought quite a lot of people back, me included. It was nice to have full lobbies. Now it’s back to normal it seems. For my taste Enlisted is developing too slow. Much stuff needs fixing and/or balancing and what we usually get is nothing or some scraps in the best case scenario. It’s yet another game that has potential but ultimately fails to deliver anything coherent.

unironically, the potential of the game.

or more like, the aura around it.

don’t get me wrong, it’s… not that bad compared to many others.
but at the same time, could be better.

so yeah, hoping for pve and halftracks.
that’s… why i’m “stiking around” from 1 year :joy:

okey. maybe not, but i can say for my personal pros:

graphic,
in depth customization ( both equipment ,and cosmetic one which i love ),
map layouts,
bots,
squad management,
multiple ww2 ( and quite possibly, more ) content in one game
mission editor
and last but not least,
gets to play as vulksturm ( does that sounds fucked up? i hope not )

cons
historical inaccuracies,
repetitive gameplay and gamemodes
not a very genuine and healthy transparency towards customers,
clear meta towards automatic weapons
still no matchmaker based on something
rank system
( yes, i know it’s contraddictory, as technically the rank system is or will be related to matchmaker, but i think there has been others system )

but hey, i ain’t in charge so, :woman_shrugging:

still, an overall okay experience.

( or maybe, Stockholm syndrome. dunno :joy: )

Same as for the every game I play. As long as I enjoy it I’ll continue playing it.
