So a experience that me and my friend been experience is that in Normandy Campaign in a dog fight I will dump all of my round into a germen 109 or 110(excluding the 188 because its a medium bomber) and they will not go down but, I will get a small burst in to my vehicle by a aa or shot down by a plane and will be instantly torn apart.
So Im asking is this a problem that the allies only face or is it on both side?
Planes in general are bugged. It’s a problem of servers and hit detection.
You have to aim ahead of the lead indicator and don’t look at hit markers.
It takes a bit or pracrice but you willbe able to destroy planes with relative ease.

I recommend aiming little bit above hit indicator, or into engines if it’s bf 110 or ju188

It’s mainly the server as a lot of people already said.
However the damage model of some plane are shit.
20mm from beaufighter (“beau combatant” 
) or the spitfire (“cracheur de feu” ) in Tunisia do no damage at all.
Same go for the flight model.
The spitfire is the perfect exemple of everything wrong with plane right now:
Can’t fly correctly, view is bugged if you look up, can’t make a loop, can’t kill ennemy with 20mm etc…
Enlisted planes are not at the Warthunder standard yet.
I wish for a Make Enlisted a better place about planes, but there is so much things to correct it would require more than one update to make it work.
JU188, P47 “Boule de froudre” are the most enjoyable plane right now.
Because one don’t require to aim since it got turret.
The other just got so many 12.7 cannon that you can spray the general position of your oponent and set the engine on fire or kill the pilot.

Beaufighter used to be great but since long it sucks (the guns, rockets are cool).
I put 1200 cannon rounds 20mm in a f*cking Stuka and it doesnt even start to smoke.
Stuka tailgunner shoots his tiny little toy MG and destroys half my plane.
Same for Stuka frontal MGs, only 2 I think and small…but big damage to me.
When I chase ME110 or JU87 often they dont even avoid my attack.
Because they know the cannon is ony a mosquito bite.
Very frustrating and disappointing.
In war thunder, a hit with a 0.2s burst of a beaufighter 20mm canon is enough to kill pretty much everything from T1 to T6
If you are looking for the full experience of Enlisted, the only campaign where you will have fun with both soldier, tanks and plane is Normandy.
Because in all other campaign, planes are useless or buggy.
Months ago I could shoot enemy planes into flames…so beautiful…
Now I shoot all my 1132 rounds from 4x 20mm cannons and 6000 rounds from 6x MGs 7.7mm at one single enemy plane and I will be lucky if it finally goes down.
This is so wrong…because the Beaufighter is very heavy and slow and ALL enemy planes outmanouvre it.
I love to fly so I will check out Normandy, thanks for the tip.
As someone who flys both faction’s planes in Normandy, allies’ planes kill faster than axis’ planes
It is the same for both sides, like the AI of the squad you use. But don’t worry we have great new features like this to make for massive flaws in gameplay.
