What is the use of the new assault engineers, ability to swap weapon?

I only got the American one from the event , but from the looks of it, both the Japanese and American one only have this single gun which they come with which counts as an Assault Rifle ? Are there maybe event ones i dont see available ?

With a Soviet or German type of this squad it would make sense as they have a few options, with the Germans having even some BR II-III AR available.

Currently (and hopefully forever) – yes.

The hammer is the second gun, you just have to make the aka aka aka ping ping pew pew sounds they just do not do much damage.

On the brightside you get a fully maxed out Engineer squad

Isn’t the M2a1 carbine an assault rifle tho?

No

The one thing I truly love about these Engineer event squads is that “WE” can change the weapons. I have an event engineer squad from each faction, but the only squad I changed weapons for was Germany as I had five Mkb 35’s sitting in storage and no place to use them. I didn’t need them in BR5, so they got weapons changes and now reside in BR2.

I wish the Dev’s would give us the same opportunities to change the premium squads we pay for as well. I don’t have a BR5 for Japan yet, however, I will just leave them alone for now and use them in custom matches.

American Event Engineers
Japanese Event Squad
Soviet Event Engineers
German Event Engineer squad

Yeah i would have prefered to get the German one, there at least i got that 4x Mkb42 with the 15round mags.

I dont really play outside of BR II or III for the Allies … i just prefer to play mostly with more realistic WW2 Gear like British BR II With Lee-Enfield No.4, Sten Bren & Piat +Crusader. Or US BR III , with M1Garand, Thompson , BAR, Bazooka & M4 Sherman.

The Squad would have been much cooler if i could swap some Thompsons on it.

I can’t remember for sure what the German engineer squad came with for weapons since it has been so long, but I had them using Stg 44’s. I had so many really good BR5 squads that I didn’t need them at BR5, and I have bought up all the slots, so when I have premium I have eleven slots. :joy: It’s pretty sad when you have too many squads that you have to store most of them. In fact, I have my lineups saved, and I have two complete BR5 German lineups, so as soon as I got my fifth Mkb 35 I dropped them to BR2 where I actually had some space. But this is my problem with the squads being locked, I end up with too many squads at certain BR levels so they just collect dust. I play all BR levels, mostly Allies and Germans.

no its categorised as a “submachine gun” so tank crews and pilots can use it, which makes sense in the way that its more compact than M2 carbine.

That’s stupid. Why should Germany be the only faction with ARs in BR2 and 3, huh?

Because they were the only ones that tinkered with such a concept and actually used some of them?
All the othere weapons ingame are more or less just 1 offs or not even an AR.

Also how does the cassification of a weapon matter? Something just beeing called an AR does not make it kill faster.
Should devs just declare that the thompsen as an AR now just so they can a low BR AR now?

I dont think that the current low BR ARs are any more powerfull than already existing weapons othere factions have, so no they arent being oppressive and needing a counterpart.

Because they were literally the first (and only) nation to actually use ARs in WW2
