What is the problem with adding things to the tech tree?

I often hear this criticism across a multitude of posts that one should not add things to the TT because it would cause bloat and make the TT grind more excessive.

However, some weapons which are not prototype weapons and were in general circulation during WW2, what is the argument against adding them?

Additionally, why is bloat an issue? Surely the grind is part of the fun of the game and allows for experimentation for weaponry / squads?

I would personally welcome more weapons into the TT, because once I have finished them all, I really do question my long term motivation for playing

Thanks all,

Krieg

The problem only affects those who haven’t completed the tec tree and see it as endless due to the number of points and games required (they recently nerfed the experience points earned).

surely the grind is the grind… if new players are intimidated by the grind i don’t see what 1 extra gun would add

surely something extra in the tt is more content?

Exactly, they use that as an excuse not to work. The truth is, the devs find it tedious even to copy and paste from War Thunder here. Personally, I have so many points that when they release something new, I immediately investigate it. xD

Some people do not want to research 10 functionally identical guns in a row in order to progress to guns they would rather use.
If the devs used folders more consistantly it wouldnt be as much of a problem but they sometimes wont.
Some people get annyoned when they are forced to backtrack in their TT when reserching high BR because some weaoin they will not use was added to low BR.

But if I was honest i suspect that thefear of this increadable bloat is often just used as a smokescreen for their own selfish reason.

sorry when u mean not to work, do u mean is it like an affront for new players to start playing the game?

don’t all games have a layer of progression to them?

i have only really played the germany and japanese tech tree in their entirety, and i would welcome more stuff to both TT’s especially Japan

but i have noticed USA has considerable repeating weapons, but it doesnt it make it moreso rewarding when u do find the weapon u want?

Always funny when the same person who oppose that bloat also complain about “empty tech trees” in another topic.

are u saying thats me lol?

no

it’s obvious

anyway.

funny indeed.

as if the subfolder function doesn’t exist.

( granted… rarily happens. and when developers do it, is when to add a new vehicle somewhere instead of the suggest subfolders… but i digress )

I wasn’t saying it didn’t work, I meant that the devs don’t want to add content, whether out of laziness (which is what I think most) or fear of not selling, considering they’ve only been adding premium content in greater quantities than from the tree…

because people are lazy, man … This isn’t Call of Duty or GTA—it’s a WW2 game with lots of tanks and planes,

Here, we focus on strategy, optimization, and grinding. Yes, you have to use your brain—unfortunately for some—and not just click the mouse as fast as you can…

If it’s too much trouble for the lazy ones to build up a branch like in World of Tanks, War Thunder, or Warships, then they should just stick to playing Black Ops 7 or Fortnite.

I’m not even talking about Heroes and Generals, where it took you five months of grinding to unlock a measly MP40.

People know what they’re getting into when they play Enlisted, so don’t act shocked when we add weapons or vehicles—otherwise, just buy a premium account or a pre-leveled account online.

More than just lazy (which they are), they’re useless. xD I mean, when you see they’re incapable of seeing the targets and they all run around like headless chickens down the same path that a guy was killing through with an MG 20 minutes ago, well… I wouldn’t expect anything. xD

There’s no reason to add a weapon that’s completely uninteresting on its own, when there are already several alternatives in the tech tree that serve the exact same function. It’s therefore much better to make it a BP reward or add it as an event reward, so that its limited availability ensures it remains at least somewhat valuable and relevant.

Especially when there are gaps in the tech tree that should be prioritized. For example, BR4 rifles for Japan and the US, fully automatic sniper rifles, the German BR3 sniper rifle, and so on and so forth.

I really don’t want to wait X years for these weapons just because the developers prioritized some meaningless filler weapon instead.

This has nothing to do with whether something should be in the tech tree or not. And it definitely isn’t enough to justify some filler junk to be new addition to tech tree. Especially since the developers usually only add one weapon per faction at most with each major update.

I mean… both things can be true at the same time

u can add other weapons without negating under developed tech trees, which is an issue i have long acknowledged

weapons which are not prototypes do and should have a place in the TTs, it is an issue we have long gone back and forth over and is one we will never agree on lol

And yet… it’s not a complicated game… these are the consequences of spending your whole life on Fortnite, FIFA, and GTA—it eats away at your brain.

For God’s sake, that’s what I always say, I’ve said the same thing in several posts. ENLISTED IS AN EXTREMELY EASY GAME.

And it’s not just happening here; the same thing happens in HLL (Hell Let Loose). The game is a milsim, it’s supposed to have you follow a role, and yet you have people playing like it’s Call of Duty, then they complain that all they can do is run and die and ask for a refund xD
