while you included a lot of options in your poll, I feel that the answer is still not simple. Someone may have joined post-merge but played a lot and become a vet in no uncertain terms. Likewise, someone may have played a lot pre-merge and dropped off and I’d still call them a vet. So… maybe games played. There’s certainly some distinction between pre and post merge. (I think I was roughly 4k games pre-merge)
Again “thank god I saved those sniper squads”. I too sold most of them, twas not smart but at least we know better if something similar ever happens.

I think Enlisted veterans are people who played the 2020 Moscow/Berlin beta tests, got interested in that immersive and authentic looking WW2 game, finally without Japanese girls running around Rotterdam with post-war French guns like in BFV.
Joined the game, invested time and money, only to get the game they were attracted by and interested in demolished into Chinese buys running around Stalingrad with fake silenced PPSh.

Yeah, what I miss most about having the old legacy squads is that I would have been able to add additional dedicated BR level lineups, and those since I would have been able to change their weapons and use them in any BR level would have made that possible. I have tons of premium squads, but some are useless because you can only play so many at certain BR levels and I can’t change them to use in other BR levels.
I love the lineups I have, but I would really like to have a BR 1 with all factions to go along with my 2,3 and 5. So, the legacy squads would have given me that ability, so, for the silver I received it really wasn’t worth it, but that’s on me. The idiocy of locking all premium squads “WE PAID FOR” is on the Dev’s.

I’ve definitely noticed a fair number of actual veterans around, which is striking; I got into the military genre more because of a naval game than anything else, and I have absolutely no real-world military or police experience.
As for tactics at least in my case I didn’t have much experience with modern FPS games when I started. Back then, I mostly played classics like Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2 especially the mods, which were really good; the bots there actually knew when to aim and shoot, haha. I’ve been playing this game for three years now; I’m not sure if that makes me a “veteran” or just a dedicated player. My in-game skills are average, I’d say I know how to use the maps to my advantage and things like that, though that isn’t always enough (not that we’re immortal in the game, of course). Still, I’m not sure if being a veteran and being good at the game fall into the same category either.

In all honesty and respect, I’m surprised there are such good and dedicated console players in this game; I didn’t believe it until I saw EvaBloke’s YouTube channel.

I’m an Android player from the pre-merge era and F2P; I don’t have much to complain about, aside from the imbalances that tend to occur in TTs due to certain developer preferences and the disappear of the campaign system / play only the maps that you like system (for me was like that)

Xbox one’s couldn’t have access to enlisted till a little bit after beta

They had access a lot earlier than almost the PC, they got a preview. 4 months between PC and Xbox. PS was a lot longer. I posted the dates above. The trifecta of Elite would be years, Hours and Pre merge. Hours says a lot, years not so much. I was looking at it from a depth point of view. Is everyone a vet, are some players more “vet” than others? are there people that are elite level vets? Is that a thing? Clearly is its simple like pre merge that says zero about time played, skill set, depth of gear. Even something as laughable as a Marshal streak, is there a higher personal value for players who are dedicated to the game? IE Is this their “primary” game. I have 100’s of games but play Enlisted more than all of them combined.
Normandy and it was my primary for a bit as allies it was miserable. It traumatized me to making the US the last faction I ground out. Artillery strike after strike. But when you first start playing the the game there is a lot to learn. I did not even know what a xp booster did, waiting a long time to figure out how OP mortars can be, and flame throwers were spray on flame murder machines. Everything kind of has its day until its nerfed.

That was the start of a very bad trend that lasted years! Are you talking about the one with Bionic arm Mary Sue? To think how many BILLIONS so many franchises lost being idiots with this type of game design marketing to people who do not play your games. It does not take a rocket scientist to know Enlisted player base is 70% sausage (I am being Bill Gates generous I bet its more like 95%) and very little bun. But yeah BF5 was right at the rising tide of crazy social messaging being included in games. So glad those days are receding. Guess Halo did not get the memo.
The Arabic, Indian, Asian, African, Far East Russian were all part of the conflict and should be included. DF Should really go out on a limb and make a Tuskegee air unit. It existed, it was capable (very), and they played combat roles that would not have to be embellished. Even the Night Witches was a good idea fo a squad and they really did use crappy planes like that. It was sadly annoying 2 of the event squads I got were BR1 but the Moroccans kitted out like a Arab rainbow party with molotovs, and dynamite is a site to behold!

I remembered when I started playing the US faction for the first time of my life, I was curious what if I wanted to play alone with NO squad, and I played ‘Lone Soliders’ mind you this is when lone soliders was on actual matchmaking and in actual matches at the time…it was BAD…like really bad.
