Basically, each campaign would have their own unique (or reused) open map for vehicular combat. Maybe some mixed, some full ground, some full air? Players can pick from all of their unlocked vehicles, and it could work with an Invasion setup, or perhaps both sides have reinforcements.

again go play war thunder, you get the chance to use all vehicles in your line up including aircraft

The only possible solution is custom match or separate “campaign”… which would probably end up as empty as LF anyway.
I really don´t want to queue in regular campaign with my 1 vehicle slot and get thrown into the match where only vehicles are allowed.

A unique vehicle vs vehicle tab on game selection.
There are campaigns already with 6 or more tank squads.
For example in normandy I run 4 inf squads and 6 tank squads just because. One day we might have enough squads to fill a 10 slot max with vehicles for a unique vehicle only warfare.
I wouldn’t mind
I would play it.
I would try to enjoy it.
And would either separate the playerbase a little or gather more players that seek that experience in a game.
Win win situation.
Suggesting something and point it to another game its as dumb as ever.
Want a more realistic game, go play Ps… No… We suggest to this game and hopefully they do our wishes if they find fit.

It would definitely attract a little bit more players into that specific mode, but can we really afford splitting the little of what we currently have?
That is cool and all, but majority of players can usually use only 1 slot since there is no way to unlock more. If we had at least an option to let players grind for one more vehicle slot (and remove 2 deaths restrictions exclusively for the mode), it could be worth a shot I guess.
Otherwise mode would be pretty much indirectly paywalled, which narrows the selection of players willing to go for it quite a bit.

also unless it was capaign restricted(further splitting the already small playerbase) it would probably eventually devolve into panther, tiger, jumbo and t34-85 spam, throwing more than half of the factions away
