What happened to mounting an LMG properly?

I used to be able to use this but in the Pacific campaign it mounts almost no where. No window sails, not even while in prone position!

Even if I build sandbags it mounts at unusable angles. Sometimes, even when the sandbags are straight and on the same level ground as me, the barrel doesn’t even clear the top. When it does clear the bags, the pitch angles are so narrow I can only shoot the ground in front of me…
I use the Type-11. Squad is already almost completely leveled so not new to the weapon. I typically end up using it as hip fire weapon in CQB now…

Can anyone tell me if this is normal? I used to remember from Normandy being able to mount an LMG almost anywhere and be able to shoot at useable angles!
Even after using it quite a bit, I have 0 mounted kills as opposed to the Bren back in Normandy where I got sometimes 20-30-40 kills with one trooper in a good spot.

you should not have to mount lmgs while laying down if they have a fixed-bipod

Mounting or basing a gun in many simple locations is very messed up, that is for sure. Half the time you wind up shooting your own window trim.

Mount points are definitely funky in the Pacific.
They’re there, but the interact point, if the term makes any sense, isn’t where it should be.

I mean in order to get the prompt to mount you need to stand way back from where you would typically expect.

It’s been annoying since ancient times. I don’t mount them because it’s usually a waste of time. I basically use them as semi autos with large mags.

If only mounting would lock you in place properly so you don’t start slipping into the ground because you looked too far left or whatever… That’d fix most of my problems.

I remember when Normandy was added it took a few months to see them fix mount points. But even before that they were waaaay better than they are now in the Pacific.
