Honestly, i don’t know if this was a poor choice of words or what, but this doesn’t sound encouraging. I’m getting, if the distribution of Enlisted on Steam doesn’t go well, further distribution of game is in question. Maybe I’m reading to much into this…
I think that they are afraid of negative reviews, so they want to have a choice to withdraw from Steam, just in case that something might go wrong.
This means that either the game will become f2p on Steam, or access to the game on Steam will remain behind a paywall.
But the game accessible via Enlisted site will always be f2p.
I doubt that they are more interested in the possibility of subsequent review bombing than they are in straightforward revenue.
The whole review bombing reasoning feels like unfounded conspiracy theory more than anything else.
