What a surprised game isn’t as popular on streaming services as when it was brand new.
In fact, there were many related videos before this game entered public testing, and some famous game video producers enjoyed playing it and making videos(sometimes more than 500k views). Now I find it difficult to find a video that exceeds 5k views.
Of course, I’m not very clear about the situation on YT because I don’t use it often
It’s nothing weird.
Basically all games are relevant on YouTube, twitch and stuff like that only for few first weeks, sometimes months.
Then attention shifts to something else and only community who actually cares about the game stays. Majority of people are bored of watching the same game over and over again.
Strangely, the popularity of videos related to WT, HLL, BF5, and even BF1 has not decreased so quickly.
These games usually maintain at 25% popularity compared to when the game was first released.
Enlisted seems much more unattractive.
Are you kidding? In comparison to time when those games were released? Not really.
All those games has currently stable communities that are bigger than our. That’s why they’re more popular on those services as well. But those numbers are incomparable to the time when they were bran new.
(Not counting WT, that game was released ages ago. Twitch wasn’t even mainstream back then.)
According to your theory:
Currently, Enlisted is closer to its release date and its popularity should not have decreased as much, compared to games released 4 years or even longer ago.
But the fact is exactly the opposite.
So, how did this phenomenon arise? Even if DF cannot compare with BF series, I don’t think Enlisted lags behind HLL in terms of advertising. But the community has made its choice.
Do not invert cause and effect.
This is right, after all, there are no other games like WT, and players have no choice.
But there’s no reason to think that enlisted is the same
What?
The biggest decrease is in first few weeks/ sometimes months. Longer period is non relevant, it only reflects how big community certain game has.
Interesting.
This is true. However, the decline rate of different games varies.
Unfortunately, as our game has not yet entered Steam, I am unable to present reliable comparative data. At least, from the perspective of media views amount, the development of Enlisted is questionable
I really don’t think Enlisted and HLL are targeting the same players. Those games are extremely different gameplay wise & concept wise.
I just doubt whether the realistic gameplay claimed by Enlisted during the CBT era and its increasing trend towards entertainment will lead to player loss XD
More like “casual gaming” than entertainment.
I would say that the game is malleable, there are games where the combat is frantic, but not too much (can be a 60-80 kills Game)
there are games where the combat is so violent that both the attacker and the defender use tooth and nail to defend the last point that is a second away from being captured while reinforcements have reached 0 differentiating
“Competitive” itself is a useless word, because everything in live can be a Competition.
I compete with other players in this game, thus it is a competitive game for me.
If counter strike would over night completely loose its " pro gamer tournament community ", then it would also stop being a competitive game.
→ not because the game changed, but because it would no longer be considered “competitive”
So its completely about personal perception whether or not something is competitive or not.
imagine a team of 10 dudes vs 10 dudes all who can build flank and communicate? Id watch that
