What do you think when looking at Enlisted from the perspective of a product?

I am aware that these questions may be too obvious for some people, but I’m still curious about the results.

Has lone fighters been sidelined due to a smaller player base (less potential profit) to focus on the apparently more profitable squads mode?
Are the players who have only played lone fighters mode, are willing to switch to squads?
Did the costs of engaging in lone fighters exceed the revenues of its recipients?
Whether customers interested only in the lone fighters part of the product were consciously ignored?
Maybe the current situation in general (bronze and silver orders, academy, this whole… “thing”) is associated with too small profits and that’s why instead of focusing on fixing bugs, they try to improve their finances?

Short term profit is all for these people.

I know one thing for sure. I’m pretty willing to start looking for another game to switch to.

Probably not, but they seem to be very lazy.

Probably were.

Of course they only care about the profits, what else would you expect from them?

Lone fighters mode in general was clearly an afterthought, not many people played it, so it became a guinea pig for all kinds of weird experiments.

First, they completely replaced the whole concept of “the same game, but without squads” with weirdly designed quasi hardcore mode. The degree of this hardcorness was always changing.

Now they did something entirely different out of it. In fact, I think what we have now is the most fun incarnation and has many interesting features, like incidental implementation of cross platform squadding.

As of answering the main question, I believe Enlisted demonstrates pretty obvious lack of planning and vision. Technically the game is OK and in some aspects wonderful. However in main squad mode we can observe about the same degree of chaotic changes. New mechanics don’t work yet, half of old mechanics are not even relevant anymore.

So yes, it is worrisome.

Almost certainly. Lone fighters is a mode trying to capture gameplay of other first person shooters in dagor engine, with enlisted hardcore mechanics, and it never made sense to me. From the start, the most unique feature of Enlisted has been the Squads mechanic, so I don’t understand why you’d come to enlisted to play lone fighters when CoD and BF exist.

I’d be willing to bet that because Lone Fighter was seeing so much less play, and not drawing new players in, the devs decided that the cost of further developement and support for the mode exceeded it’s probable income generation.

If they were ignored, there never would have been a lone fighters mode to begin with.

Maybe, but I’d think that they’d make more money in the long run by focusing on making a good game and finishing the product, getting out of OBT, and then worrying about how well their monetization model works. Overly monetizing the beta only serves to alienate players who are interested now, and will probably hurt future revenues.

squad was the only mode for this game with LF being added in the most rawest forms sometime in December of last year, so it’s not short term profits for them since they built the game around Squads

edit: oops i was wrong, it wasn’t in november for LF, it was in early december

LF mode wasn’t meant to exist in the first place.
But devs decided to go from unique game to more and more generic game. You can see this in almost every aspect of the game.

I’m a bit disappointed about the state of development. It feels very unprofessional to change things through updates hastily without thinking about consequences (troop orders, custom battles). Also they apparently do many silent changes on daily basis without patch notes. I would certainly be happier if the development process was more transparent as it is common in other studios.

You know, no one is forcing you here to play the game.

Dont know what made the Developers move the lone fighter mode but the outcry of the usability of the mode in the past wasnt positive at all and deemed Playersplitting. So I guess its because of that.

The complete lack of knowing how to communicate with paying customers is truly showing here. As a moderator you represent them and shouldn’t be making such replies.

i think devs simply " made " the custom matches to allow lone fighter players a chance to play against more humans then bots like previously usually happened ( with a limits of 2 bots so… )

i mean, that’s up to you. didn’t changed that much for them.

mh, i don’t think as well.

despite the low numbers, there were quite many that even bought premium because of it.
( just type lone fighter in the forum and you’ll see many people )

that’s…

i don’t know how can you think of that when this game is the definition of " glorified mobile microtransactioned game " at it’s best.

all the prem squads, all the bp, all the prem account, and the rest?

i don’t think so.
