Today I was in a Panther tank and won the game by destroying 8 enemy tanks without dying once. I usually destroy 2 or 3 tanks at most and then go back to infantry, so today’s game was a lot of fun.
I started the German grind because I wanted to drive a Tiger, and I bought a Gold Order Panther as a replacement until then.
But now I am very fond of this tank that has gone through many deaths.
I sometimes get fed up with the grind, but to tell the truth, it is the grind that makes me feel this way and motivates me to play, and I enjoy it very much.
There are moments where a group of enemies would gather on one spot and I would have SMG going full auto on their heads. The repeating headshots are very addicting to hear.
Bro i am fighting everyone that comes my way and most of them don’t manage 50 also you make it sound like i have control over which players i get and how many bots there are, which is funny the bots usually do better than the average player, if I’m top of the team with a bolt action there’s a krill issue
My bad, i forgot to put a , in first post
I saw your reply, and just thought it funny, in my mind, so i make a joke, i can assure you it wasn’t, meant to be taken personally,
as you say, no one has control, over what teams we receive, at end of day most of us clubbing seals, with this MM
was meant to be a joke, but jokes don’t work well, on internet
i like the feel of massive combat by the sheer amount of characters running around
i love the squad system, though for fuck sake the current formation and aggresive/passive command method susck ass in PC now.
i love that you can kill/get killed with regular guns, flame guns, machine guns, grenades, super far thrown grenades, bunch of other explosives, tanks, planes, gun wielding maniacs on boats, nutcase kamikaze roleplayer, and a lot of other stuff.
i love that sweet feeling of winning/losing by the skin of your teeth because of split second fail in a equal skilled team (this one is super rare).
i love marking enemies spot, though not so much about seeing it basically ignored.
i also love building bunch of shit that doesn’t get used much
i also enjoy the fact that the game is free and light enough i can play it while playing a music on a separate browser. nothing beat killing/killed while listening to some dank ass weeb music or lo fi music.
Ah yes, the enjoyment you get from new gear.
The one I remember more than anything, was replacing that crummy old Stuart with a shiny new M8 Scott (I was maining Allies in Normandy with a couple of friends, back when I first started playing the game). Yeah sure, that thing can’t use it’s MG without exposing the gunner and the turret traverse is horribly slow. But man, that feeling of finally being able to lob 75mm HE shells and wiping out antire squads. And killing bigger tanks than myself with HEAT. I don’t think I’ve had as much fun with the Sherman afterwards, even though it is objectively better. It’s the high arc and slow speed of the shell, that somehow makes the M8 so satisfying to use, once you find a good spot for it.
Finally getting the hang of bombing is a another fond memory.
Pilfering an FG42 from a dead enemy for the first time and going on a killing spree (it was probably just bots but still fun).
More recently, I was able to tame the Focke Wulf. I hated it at first, now I love it.
Other than that, I continually enjoy the scale and the sheer carnage of the average battle and nothing can beat the satisfaction of a hard-won victory. Those are quite rare right now. It’s usually stomping or getting stomped. Hopefully the big update will change that.
I’m sticking to this game mostly for that reason.
This is why i spend more time on forum than in game as well.
It seems like i am waiting for this game to spread its wings.
I enjoy high lethality of weapons + lots of AI targets letting me score a lot of easy kills, because why the hell shouldn’t I. I mean, I’m here to kill, not to get killed
Another fun moment…I was grind the Berlin axis and just now got a FW190 D12.
I checked out how far I could climb with this aircraft and it climbed to 11,600m. That is stratospheric.
I saw on wikipedia that the climb limit of the FW190 is 12,000m, so I was impressed to see it reproduced to such a degree.
I absolutely love AI battles, something the gaming world has forgotten and abandoned.
So for me this is the main reason why I play this game.
Second thing for me is the tank combat.
While I indeed do complain a lot about armor balance and realism, the fact that you as a tanker are limited to the actual view of a crew makes vehicle combat pure gold.
I started playing enlisted before I knew about war thunder
and after seeing how beautifully it is done here, I was very disappointed that WT has a third person view… it’s like soooo bad… although I just don’t really like third person in pvp games in general
