What commanders could look like in enlisted No.1

This is a concept I have for a potential commander role in enlisted. This role is only to be used when we get access to the full maps in the campaigns, not in any of the smaller game modes.

( decided to make a topic instead of replying in a previous commander thread)

(I will try to make this unique and have the commander as involved as possible instead of having a staring competition with a map)

Although this is more of a roleplay “role” The way I see this working is if there are multiple commanders spread across the map with mobile/stationary command posts that can move along with the Frontlines.

Commanders are special troops (armed with a pistol) who are guarded by a number of military police bots and also have a bit of auxilliary bot that can be assigned to do anything the commander orders, like place flags around the main capture point if they are stationary ( I will touch on this in a bit)

The commanders have a small battery of rocket artillery that can be moved to a desired area to blast an area. (Why not :slightly_smiling_face:)

Commanders have 2 options to chose from, a stationary state or a mobile state.
In the mobile state the commander moves along with his bots, police, and rocket artillery to serve as a mobile medic and ammo box while moving with the vehicles they have to deliver to a point ( you could call it a convoy I suppose)

In the stationary state the commander sits in a building at a main capture point, from here the police guard the building he is in and 2 of them follow him and act as personal guards. From here the commander draws on a map, everyone can see where he wants them to go.(people can toggle his drawings on or off) He could order for a point to be taken for a reward of more XP. Commanders can also send a small squad out to fight where he controlls an officer which can shoot a flare gun to signal the rocket artillery. The commander also gets deliveries of halftracks, trucks, tankettes(depending on campaign), jeeps, and scout vehicles. Commanders can send a couple of bots to deliver vehicles to where it is needed, trucks full of a certain amount of supplies can also be delivered. The bots return to the camp in a jeep.

The auxiliary bots first set up defenses like anti air guns, anti tank guns, machine gun emplacements and such(they will man a few depending on the danger level or incoming scouted threat). Then they set up medical buildings and ammo storage buildings. Finally they install speakers blasting music, speeches/propaganda, Frontline reports, along with flags, and stuff to give an ambience to the place.

If the stationary command post is going to be overrun the commander can retreat to a previous position so he can resume his job, the auxilliary bots are assigned to defend the retreating commander along with a few police to kill deserters.

The commander can play for the entire match unless they are voted out or killed. ( if they are killed players can vote if they still want him)

Add or change what you like!

I could see this game mechanics work on maps much bigger wth 100 players on each side.
In the present state of game, things happen much on the run so the room for strategic units is very limited unfortunately.
But yes the concept is good and we can hope the game will evolve to higher level where these ideas can be implemented.

Pretty much, I feel the same way about this.

I think the best implementation for a commander system would be something along the lines of battlefield 4 and battlefield hardline, where a player took on the role of an outside presence that would actively support his team with recon, aidropped supplies and vehicles (in this case it could be anti tank weapons or machineguns like in company of heroes 2) or even ballistic missiles (which could be the bomber runs we have coming this update).

What made the mode even greater was that there was an app that allowed you to play from a tablet or ipad while you were away from your Pc or console

I was thinking that for a little bit, but it is not unique and very practical for what could be this type of game. What are they going to airdrop, a PTRD? There is already a soldier class for that. And vehicle airdrop? The Welbike is only for the Britons.

The recon and airdrop supplies will work for the type of commander I proposed, they are a commander after all.

For the mobile app, would be interesting as an additional map on the side you could have. It could serve as a quicker way to put down markers and draw I guess

I think having this on a large map with control points where the commander builds stationary positions(kinda like small forward bases that they do in real life) on each side where the commander and engineers can build around creating defenses and such. Both sides try to attack and defend those points through out the map creating a very strategic game mode that can be Uber fun. With how the maps are now I think it could work. I believe that the maps are set up in a way where they create a big map and the match is only set in a certain area of that map. I know some matches are set in a different map but still they could stitch the maps together in a way that could be reasonable. I believe this could create a very immersive experience especially with the AI squads. Let’s see what they think of this
