I guess everybody knows of infamous normandy baloons that give tickets for destroying them.
So what alternative rewards could be given for completing side objectives? My proposals are:
faster capture speed of the main objective
faster respawn
new additional respawn location
additional tank/plane
Rate those and suggest your’s.
I need this to suggest another variation of invasion mode.
Exp multiplier on the end of the match depending on how well was secondary objective completed/defended.
Depending on the mode, it also might still give attacking side tickets, but the secondary objective needs to be something that defenders can actually defend, and benefit from defending it. (for example, conveniently placed pre-built fortifications that can be blown up through faster destruction minigame or something… just spitballing here)
Balloons in Normandy are interesting in concept, but they don´t actually do anything for defenders, nor they can actually defend them.
While faster capturing or respawning might provide that incentive, it would probably be too much of a benefit, or make it feel like secondary objective is “must-have” to complete.
Additional plane/tank would just be too impactful. Imagine completing some easy side objective and being able to spawn 3 t-50s as reward…
Maybe automatically built rally type of spawn on completed objective site would work though.
I feel that before adding others benefits to that strange side objective mechanism, that the other side should have a counter side objective that also gives benefits. It’s just strange to me that only one side can take advantage of a side objective mechanism.
It is what I do.
Spawn with my engineer squad, build ammo crates, go back, build rally points, build an AA and shoot down every balloon. Easy to do and beats them lousy system.
ok why not. But what does the team need to do for that?
For infantry only, ok.
That is interesting. Maybe one from the side.
That will surely be abused by suicide bombers and HE grey zone spammers.
I would also suggest:
bot infused heavy artillery fire on the attack or defence lines. (something like a bombing raid?)
automatic but not 100% precise anti air fire to add spice to the game
bot infused air raid which drops ammo crates, anti tank guns or Panzerfaust crates.
What needs to be done to achieve that? I have currently no idea, but it must be heavy to achieve.
Adicional objectives should be bombing or destroying something on the map or finding a document folder on a huge possible area that will grant either more tickets for attacking side or disable vehicle spawns for the rest of the match duration for defenders for example:
Destroy this radio mid match and defenders won’t be able to spawn planes for the rest of the match.
Or find a document folder on a specific possible map zone and defenders /atackers won’t be able to spawn a type of squad for x period of time or match duration.
I’d like to see aircraft specific secondary objectives. Some ideas would be to bomb enemy artillery positions, Airfields, supply convoys, or forward operating bases to reduce or delay enemy reinforcements or indirect fire support.
Except that is not the reason why these balloons exists in the first place.
They should pretty much serve as an area of denial for low attitude plane attacks.
But that does not quite work in Enlisted.
For axis secondary objective being “destroy your own balloons” is not only nonsensical, it is outright stupid for the very absurdity of it.
Not to mention the time you are wasting for the possibility that somebody from enemy team may have IQ to do that, instead of defending your cap.
The balloons are low hanging fruit in my opinion and should be removed because I’ve had a 99% loss rate on that map. I like your idea of adding secondary objectives tho. Like maybe add another ‘strategic’ capture point like a bunker or hill that already exists but if it is taken/held it serves as an additional permanent spawn point. It’d be cool to add environmental affects (NOT FOG) like low overcast skies to hamper air support or something. But for the love of God not fog everyone hates fog
