If youโre going to put lifting hooks on a 10 ton turret (dunno 0 but itโs heavy!) then they need lots of weld!
The turret weight alone was 24.600 kg lol.
The KV-2 from the Pic is a Model 41; all 1941 models have these hooks so that troops at the frontline were able to maintain the tank in the field rather than having it sent back and forth to the production plant for repairs.
For example the KV-2 in Belgrade Military Museum is a Model 40, missing the hooks.
