Why do weapons picked up from the ground always have minimal ammo?
Collect a weapon from a dead soldier (friend or foe) and it always has the least amount of ammo possible, usually one mag or a single 5 rounds for a bolt action rifle etc.
This is an artificial feature of the game for no apparent reason and it must change.
It is particularly annoying when its my own squad like I’m using a Thompson for example, and lets say I had four mags (120 rounds), that soldier gets shot, but when his mate picks up his gun its only got a single 30 round mag left.
That is wrong, I know how much ammo I had left. Ammo boxes arent always available and either way it is simply logical that when a soldier drops his weapon the ammo he had left would remain rather than magically disappearing.
I think this is a realistic touch in Enlisted; consider that soldiers carry their own rifles, chambered for the specific calibers used by their respective nations—so if you pick up a rifle from the opposing side that uses a different caliber, the ammunition isn’t interchangeable. Furthermore, what you’re actually picking up is the weapon itself, not the pouch hanging off the dead soldier.
At the same time, the guerrillas have the ability to do what you’re describing, but if every type of soldier could do it, it would strip that specific class of its significance.
Maybe for allied weapons, but definitely not enemy weapons. Just because like @JIMMY_BERETTA-psn said, it’s very unrealistic that for example a US soldier with a Garand or Springfield chambered in 30-06 Springfield also has the 7.92x57 Mauser the Kar98 uses.
Well no because you’re picking up the gun, not the ammo bag with it. So however many bullets are left in the chamber and magazine attached is however many you get, regardless if it’s 32, 10 or 2.
Now if you picked up the enemy ammo bag, it would make sense to get the rest of the reserve. But we currently don’t, and it should only be restricted to Guerilla and related classes anyway.
i think a mechanic where you grab the enemy weapon, and then interact with the dead body through the same saboteur changing clothes animation, you hold the button and collects amunitions instead could work.
so it’s extra realistic, and still time consuming.
Because they aren’t thinking of the fact that it’s emulating taking the soldiers ammunition along with their weapon… and instead think you should… share the same ammo? wtf is the thought process you guys went through @Lingguinea@JIMMY_BERETTA-psn
This suggestion would mean if you’re holding kar 98k with 5/20 rounds and picked up Springfield and the enemy who dropped it had 5/10 rounds you’d get his extra two mags for the Springfield… not sharing your own ammo.
Sure it’s an instant pickup… but it’s a video game and picking up weapons it’s such a gimmick it’s why never do it… cool one or two more kills.
I partially agree: you cannot carry too much of the enemy´s ammo without picking up his pouches as well. However it would be nice if the weapon came with the magazine that is currently loaded and another full/most loaded magazine instead of getting the current magazine and the least loaded magazine with the picked up weapon.
If the player gets two magazines when picking up the weapon, at least make those logical. Why would I pick up a half empty magazine from someone? Makes no sense.
