The MG42 should never have been added as anything other than static emplacements. America gets no equivalent to it so they really should just flat-out remove it. It’s a good gun, but its too good.

With your logic we may as well remove PPD and opther rusian SMGs as Ge don’t have a counter. And we should remove BAR as it has no counter, etc.
The BAR has equivalents - The premiums are both BARs and the German MGs in general do better too.
But it’s premium.

Thats just my opinion. It does need a lot of balancing though. They could make the barrel warp when firing making it way less accurate (Plus it incentivizes using it in bursts which is how you would want to use it historically) and make you unable to hip-fire (The recoil would likely be too much)
As long as we’re also balancing Allied weapons, I have no issue with them toning down the German ones. However, Gaijin in particular have this unfortunate tendency to nerf Germany again and again, for no other reason than they can.
Not sure how much control Gaijin has over the game, they’re not the developers, they’re the publishers.
You think they won’t impose their particular vision on the game, when it’s their money being used to fund development of it?
Not necessarily but I am suggesting that I doubt the holy snail really cares about how the weapons are balanced, they definitely care about the price of the packs in the store though

I do agree with all your previous points though. The MG42 needs to be nerfed but they need to have the allied weapons to be no better than it.
Also, how far along do the Allied equivalents unlock? That’s also a balance issue.
No idea I haven’t checked in a while and I kinda stopped progressing normandy for the allies at about
campaign level 7-8 since I only ever get invasion maps that are repetitive.

Real warfare it’s unbalanced, man. We can’t rage because of every asset that doen’t have a real counterpart. In expample, Allies have some pretty nice assets like Jumbos that outclasses axis equivalents.
I’m playing mostly Battle of Moscow, and I like how Russian weaponry sometimes outclasses german’s (like PPSH against german early-war submachineguns, or T60 against PzII). Sure, germany gets advantage at other things, but I’ve seen that battle results are balanced across factions, and that’s what matters in the end.
I find that the stat cards for most weapons don’t really give you a true idea of how effective a weapon is in the game … They are pretty worthless really …
Give me a Tiger against Shermans then.
