the removal of the academy has led to the level up of their soldiers with the bronze orders (which is very welcome) but at the same time it has shown me how the troops of tier 2/3 require a huge effort to be upgraded up to lv5: a single Tier 2 soldier needs more than 100 bronze orders to upgrade, this got me thinking today (after running out of bronze orders in upgrades)

this is something I’ve been thinking about for at least 20 minutes on the toilet, but maybe the new upgrade system is not needed not for advanced weapons but for early ones?

kar98k in moscow and tunisia, pps43 in berlin, ppd34 (box) in moscow …
in my opinion the upgrade system is incredibly beneficial to initial weapons by increasing the balance between player and will not guarantee any excessive bonus to weapons already op such as stg / thompson / ppsh41 / fg42 / berrettaM38 and future one.
imo. in normandy, both zk-383, mp35/1 and baretta 40 rounds are far better than the fnab and mp40 regarding smgs only… and ofc mp43/I then…
the point is to change your guns as you progress to “better” ones . upgrading stock or low campaign level guns its simply a mistake on the long run.
dismantling guns its way more painfull than wasting bronze orders and get fully upgraded guns as we play …
currently have 800 or so bronze orders, if the weapon upgrade system comes as current soldier one, i ill be able to spend them on some remaining most used weapons i currently own.
even if the upgrade costs alot, i dont care… i dont intend to finish the game in 1 week. i have all the time in the world to gain more orders as i play and upgrade as i do…
you forgot that before them there are mp35 beretta1918 and about twenty levels, the point of my reasoning is given the huge amount of orders needed to upgrade and buy tier2 / 3 weapons it would not be better to use one of tier 1 to upgrade it (example mp40 ) and change it directly when you unlock one that is actually superior in performance (example mp43 / I) then everyone can play as they want but at the level of planning and saving orders bronze / silver being able to upgrade tier 1 weapons is really a lifesaver for new players in all way
might be, but its still a mistake on the long run to upgrade low campaign level guns.

its the same as for example on certain vehicles. for example upgrading M5a1 tanks knowing a m4a2 its far better latter on.
imo, just imo its a waste of weapons/orders what ever to currently upgrade low level weapons. as a new player i would rather “suffer” a bit, and get better equipment on the long run and upgrade it as i play.
sorry where would the problem be? tier 1 weapons will cost little to upgrade and this will allow you to play with them and buy and upgrade, later with all orders spared the high level weapons if you want, it seems to me that this helps everyone expecially the new one and anyone is free to play without problems
It will encounter the same problem of soldiers all using low tier weapons and none give a fuck of high tier ones.
Except for the Very strong ones like m1 Thompson, bar 2, mp43 ecc ecc.
What it will cost me upgrade 6 mp43 (the number I’m using rn) to max level 300 order?, if they do like soldier orders and double or triple the gain its grindy enough but not to much but still its a LOT to grind.
I been making the tier 1 max, then i thought tier twos i might miss, them, (but end up doing as i forget my plan not to) , i can then max tier 3s, with all the ones i saved from tier twos, lol
Exactly thought take normandy for example, there are a lot of germans with the mp43 / I, FG42 (me first) the new allied players end up with lee-enfield n4 / Ross / garand / m3a1, which are great weapons but certainly inferior to the German ones but once upgraded
m3a1: becomes a sniper rifle with automatic fire and no recoil
lee-enfield n4 / Ross: fires as fast as a semi-auto and kills with one shot
garand: becomes a laser
for this reason I think that the upgrading of weapons will benefit new players more because they can spend fewer orders of bronze / silver and have a good arsenal and compete more easily with veterans like us, and next if they want can obtain tier 3 weapons in more easily way with all order spared
, i can then max tier 3s, with all the ones i saved from tier twos, lol
