I dont think the Brummbär belongs into BR 3. It got very good top frontal armor (bottom is still kinda bad) and it also got decent fire rate.
Its ballistic trajectory and rate of fire are both inferior to the StuG II. I already pointed out in my suggestion poll that it has a 20mm weak spot on its front armor, which can be penetrated by 37mm cannons. It deserves to stay at BR3, for it lacks a turret and machine guns, plus its side armor is even thinner.
Pathetic attempt to derail the suggestion and call attention to their cries.
Body armor has zero relation to aircraft balancing.
@Белобандит I hope you’re doing it as a joke or bait because it speaks volumes. Extremely childish.
Yes i will acknowledge the irony in doing it once myself that did derail it but you seem fit to mention it on any post regarding germany… kind of makes it seem like a joke.
The A-1 sadly is still BR II not BR I
So there is only FW in BR II and BR III.
Ahh yes, my mistake. The one without bombs or rockets is on BR 2.
It is very simple- as long as IL2 can be BR2 , BF110 being BR4 is ridiculous.
Rockets main advantage is not anti tank power, instead rockets are the best anti infantry tool - which is waaaay more important.
Also penetration power for rockets is very unreliable as a balance standard. German tanks generally have much weaker roof armor than other nations.
Especially during the Normandy campaign, I really wish the Bf 110 G-2 could come in and strafe the area with rockets. It’s hard to gain the upper hand when enemies swarm those sloped open terrains. Taking them out only with two 250kg bombs is simply not practical.
What a long wait! The German Panzer III N has been approved. I just remembered the rocket launcher with 10 tubes that uses the same rockets has been moved from BR 4 down to BR 3. It’s a shame it didn’t return in this D-Day event.
The forum moderators are always active here; they even reply to posts from way back in 2022.
I wonder when Germany will get BR 3 aircraft rockets similar to America’s. I got absolutely overwhelmed by M8 rockets and Havoc runs today.
I wonder when they gonna rename D4Y1 to D4Y2 and give it 4x × Type 3 No.1 Mod.28 Mk.1 rockets on top of the bomb and still will be bad since its guns are absolutely useless xD
I’ve been getting obliterated by American bombers nonstop in Normandy lately. When will Germany get to fire rockets just like the US?
I get bombed constantly every single match. Things were so much better back when the Bf 110 G-2 was at BR 3!
Everyone could trade rocket strikes back and forth.
This is so boring. The suggestion has had tons of votes for ages. I guess I’ll have to head over to the Russian forums and ask around there.
good luck with that. Its been 57 days for your topic…A year since this demonstration of CAS power
Its BR4 because it has 4 rockets - meanwhile US has 6 rockets at BR2. Also IL2 is crazy good also for BR2. The nerf to BR4 was utterly ridiculous.
Yeah, what decent air assets does Germany even get at BR 3? Americans can freely deploy aircraft armed with six rockets and bombers carrying four 500-pound bombs whenever they want.
Germany’s tech tree only offers two 250kg bombs and two rockets for their planes right now.
I barely ever see anyone playing German aircraft; they’re practically invisible in matches.
Players only pull out planes as a last resort to counter enemy bombing runs when they’re getting pounded relentlessly. But if you’re forced to hop in a plane to fight back, the ground front is almost lost already. It leaves you stuck between a rock and a hard place.
On top of that, anti-air vehicles are locked behind premium squads. How are regular players supposed to counter all this air power?
I really miss the old aircraft we used to have.
Wow, back here again after 108 days.
German BR‑3 feels completely abandoned right now. Players want to escape this miserable meta, so they jump to BR‑5 to fight Americans and Soviets.
Unlike War Thunder, the Panzer IV gets no extra armour at BR‑3.1, putting it at a big disadvantage against US and Soviet tanks.
Its shells also perform poorly against T‑34 and KV vehicles. At the same range in WT you could penetrate flat frontal armour easily, yet here you often have to aim for the tiny gun‑shield weak spot. The shell behaviour of the Panzer IV is really odd.
Since German rocket ordnance got moved to BR‑4, only the US keeps heavy fire‑support options in BR‑3.
Americans can bring HE‑VAR plus four 500‑pound bombs. Why can’t Germany use four rockets, but only two 250 kg bombs?
Sheesh.
It’s frustrating that the Il‑10 at BR‑5 still only carries two 250 kg bombs. It could have been fitted with four rockets with HE power comparable to 152 mm shells, just like the Bf‑110G‑2, yet this option is locked out.
I can’t help wondering if DF’s devs got tired of getting blown up by rockets themselves. Maybe that’s why they seem reluctant to give strong rocket ordnance to factions other than the US.
BR III? I use my Ju87 D-3, 3x 250kg bombs.
BR V? Do 335 A-1, 2x 250kg + 1x 500kg bombs.
They gleefully fick scheiß up.
But yes where are the german planes that absolute hoarded rockets?
I know there should be some slower flying planes that came with like 6-10 rockets on them…
And the russians and allies call in rocket artillery, where’s germany getting to call in the V-Bombs?
German air support is severely lacking and nowhere near as deadly as America’s.
US aircraft have the highest damage ceiling in the whole game. The positive reception of the Kugelblitz partly proves this point.
As for the American Skink, aside from mediocre penetration on its 20 mm cannons, DF also harshly nerfed its magazine down to only 20 rounds. This makes it perform far worse than the BMPT and M13 anti‑air vehicles.
Japanese and German air threats are generally not that intense. The Kugelblitz is valued mainly because there are swarms of US planes. But when using the Skink, enemies mostly only drop ordinary bombs. Even two 250 kg bombs from the Bf‑110 are not devastating; regular AA‑guns can handle them easily. That leaves the Skink with very little to counter.
If the Bf‑110G‑2 rockets were still kept at BR‑3, the Skink would be an extremely popular vehicle.
Instead of the Bf 110 G2 version, how about lowering the BR of the Me 410 series by one level overall, as they are just unnecessarily taking up space in BRs 4 and 5?
That makes a lot of sense.
I will look up the flight‑speed stats for this aircraft in War Thunder later.
I recall many large German aircraft have rather low top speeds. Maybe we can use their flight performance as an argument to suggest lowering their battle‑rating.
To be honest, both the 250 kg bomb‑load variant and the rocket‑armed Me‑410 are quite outdated. They used to be somewhat viable on the Berlin map, but are practically useless now. I would like to see both moved down to either BR 2 or BR 3.
